Hi. I didn't do an interview today which means I did an all music radio show. I played a lot of really nice obscure records. At the end of my show I also did a focus remembering Dee Dee Warwick, who died last week. Dee Dee was one of the greatest and most underrated female voices in soul music. You can listen to my show at:

Excellent stuff, as always, Bob and such a great tribute to Dee Dee Warwick.

Hi Bob!

Thanks for posting playlist and sound file upload.

Enjoyed the show, my personal favorites

+ spontaneous `stream-of-consciousness´ comments:

Larry Craig and the Third Addition - Do it again

(Great vocals and wonderful song.)

Love Affair - I can't stop loving you

(Not to be confused with the well known pop group by the same name of course.)

Hearts of Stone - If I could give you the world

(Got an album by that group methinks.)

David Peoples - Got to get my broom out

(English is not my native tongue, but does "Got to get my broom out" mean what I think it means (LOL)?! Thinking of the classic "Dust My Broom" which is a very dirty song.)

Unity - We can make it

(Very nice tune. Once again, there are several groups by this name. For instance I have a full album by a soul group called Unity, but probably not the same people at all.)

Van Jones - Your love is like a high

If I´m not mistaken Van Jones was discussed just the other day on another forum that I´m a member of. Great record all the same!

Fred Moss - I'll always love you

(Ultra-soulful.)

...and a very nice Dee Warwick tribute. By her I´ve got some albums and 45s + a CD comp, so much great stuff. Very underrated singer indeed. One of the best soul singers no doubt.

Cheers,

Melismo

Thanks everyone. Do you have a link to the forum discussion on van jones, I'm interesting in finding out more, I think I have almost all his 45s. I think the Fred Moss is the same group as the perfections on big b, F. Moss has writing credits on the perfections 45 and his voice sounds the same. I think the "got to get my broom out" was about clearing out his past and not about anything dirtier. The Unity I played was from New Jersey, produced by Fred White, same guy behind the Decisions. It has a good 70s northern side that I'll play on another show. Thanks.
