John Reed Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 (edited) It's been 6 months since the last one and there were a few people not in it, who said they would be interested in the next one. I've also spoken to a couple of people and they said they were interested. I tried to resurrect it on the old CD Swap thread but there was only one response. The last few I've been in have been great fun with new tunes (to me) popping up all the time. So, is anyone interested? Edited October 28, 2008 by John Reed

ajb Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 count me in what theme with having? toe tapping tunes, b sides, album only, male only, female only, what were listening to at the moment, or desert island discs 2 alan
Chalky Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I might be interested depending on the theme and how much spare time I have.
Blake H Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I'm intrested also........how about no theme just great soul? BH
Guest biggray1 Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Big Gray's up for it,so wots the theme then.
John Reed Posted October 26, 2008 Author Posted October 26, 2008 It's always a hard one as being too specific can put people off, for me the broader the better. So what about something along the lines of tunes bought or revisited since the credit crunch (the last year or so). That way it can transverse the genres, decades, formats and price. Watcha think?
mischief Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I just done one today for Kev H.. in a swap... (posting tomorrow ) so would be happy to send that on to any one... No theme just stuff i've bought in the last 12 months...

Watcha think? sounds good john, keeps it simple with the run up to christmas shouldn't we wait for chris, or would you like to take the batten and run with it. the first thirty and all that, collating addresses, emails, and such like. alan
Chris Anderton Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Guys, I was only thinking we should do this again today at work....I`m happy to run it again but equally happy if John or somebody else wants to take control this time? I think we need to have a theme, probably the best one was the first one....Lp tracks. Maybe we sould repeat that again..?? Chris
Guest Zane10 Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I've not been involved in any of the previous ones, but Fraser Dunn let me know about the last one and I would definitely be interested in taking part. I have, however, no idea of how it works so someone wil need to tell me, please? All the best, Zane
Chris Anderton Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Pretty simple really Zane....I start a new thread asking who is interested, leave it a couple of days, the first 30 are in, they send me their email and postal address then i send out the other 29 participents details....you do a CD depending on the theme and copy it 29 times, send it out to the other punters and await 29 Cds of quality soul to drop thru your letter box over the next 2 months or so....enjoy the Cds! The last one i believe we had 100% participation, eventually! Dont do anything yet...its not started yet.... Chris
John Reed Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 I don't mind who takes the lead, Chris has done a sterling job in the past. If he wants to be the lead I'm happy.
Mal C Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 would like to be in on this... as I missed the last one. Mal.C
Chris Anderton Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Tell you what John, you lead this time, although it doesn`t take up a massive amount of time i have a lot on with work, builders, knackered desktop, pregnant wife, new list etc.I`ll leave it to you this time mate... Of course I`m in for the swap as usual..... All we need is a theme...to refresh your memories in the past we have done "LP tracks" Desert Island discs" and "Cheapies but goodies". As I said before i think i enjoyed the lp tracks swap the most but the ony danger with that is the CD tracks I would want to put on my CD are the same ones i managed to pick up after hearing them on the swap! How about sticking to one city, Detroit, Chicago etc Over to you John..... Chris
Johnlloyd Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Count me in again. The most fun you can have for less tha £20 that doesn't involve Marie Helvin and a bubble making machine.
Tony Turner Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Possibly a contentious suggestion but how about just 'good dancers' for a theme. That's tunes not people
Tabs Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 I'm up for it again. Great dancers or desert island tunes sounds good. Or how about a pick and mix, a selection of any thing you like. Modern, oldies, RnB, deep, the whole gamut. Cheers Tabs
Sammy Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 I missed the last one, so I'd love to be a part of this one. Has been some time since I last participated in a swap...
Steve L Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Count me in as long as its not LP tracks or 70s cos I havent got any
John Reed Posted October 28, 2008 Author Posted October 28, 2008 Okay, looking at the responses.... People seem to want it to be as open as possible or a pick and mix. I like the idea of LP tracks (I wasn't in that one) and I have a leaning to X-over/70's, but by having either as a theme would potentially exclude people. I like the idea of a city and it would be great if we each chose a different city or state (bit dodgy if you get Alaska). I already had a leaning towards stuff bought in the last 12 months and Paul (Mischief) already has one done.... So - Tunes bought in the last 12 months.... And yes Joan, girls are allowed. I will be creating a new thread later today/this evening. Usual rules with the first 30 getting in. Cheers, John
Jumpinjoan Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 So - Tunes bought in the last 12 months.... Oh heck... I'm not sure that I've bought a whole cd's worth of tunes in the last twelve months. Been a bit poor you see I could lie... but knowing my luck I'd get found out by an old play list
