I dropped a bollock with this too a few years ago. Found it in a box at Tony's Emporium in Blackburn about 15 years ago, I'd never heard of a white Laurie demo of ANYTHING? It was marked at 30 squidleys or summat. Made a few enquiries that night of some other collectors and nobody had heard of it. Took a chance and got it for 25 having sold my coloured demo to a mate there and then for 30 to cover it. It's a boot I reckon for sure, it's plain when you hear the sound reproduction. Plus the R in the deadwax is a bit of a giveaway. I thought it might be a reissue that slipped by me but I couldn't verify anything. Even now when I show it people they end up scratching their heads. Be great to find out the who, why and wherefores of this particular 45. Over to you....anyone?

I have never heard of , or seen any white label demo copies for Laurie , so your copy may well be as you assume Dave , a boot ........

All the Laurie demos I have come across , have had " advance release " in what I call " psychedelic " lettering ( see below ) : If Roger - 45celler - comes across this / your posting , he may be able to shed some light on Laurie white label demos .......

I know of 3 different variations of Laurie Demos:

1. The one posted

2. The normal label with promo text.

3. The browner colored one with similar layout to the one posted above.

Has ANYONE EVER seen a W/Demo of ANYTHING on Laurie. I've asked this question a couple of times before with the same result. No, Nada, Niet!

Hi Dave

Never seen a LAURIE White DEMO of Any Title. As far as I'm Aware HOAGY LANDS on a White DEMO is a BOOT as already mentioned.

Hi Julian

The Intriguing thing about this copy is the "Please don't talk about me when I'm gone" side.

I haven't had or seen a White DEMO Boot of this,

which is supposed, I am told to have "THE NEXT IN LINE" both sides. :D

I can only state as before I haven't seen a LAURIE White DEMO of any title.

This collecting game does hold many surprises though.

I believe that I have somewhere a HOAGY LANDS Stock Copy with Scratched in Matrix

Not sure of details other than that, I'll search it out and scan the Matrix.

There is a vinyl stock with only scratched in numbers.

There is a styrene mid 70's reissue stock, that was done the same time as Dean Parrish, both styrene with no delta Number. I think the Dynamics "Yes I love you baby" was another Laurie styrene done at that time for Northern demand.

Still a bit puzzled. Are ALL red/black label (of Hoagy Lands) on vinyl original copies?
