Any help would be great-even if it's extra facts about the smaller projects. Thanks again! -Jason
Steve G Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 What is this a list of his productions? - if so plenty plenty more to add. What about the other 80s version of "I'm back for more" for starters
jazzyjas Posted October 23, 2008 Author Posted October 23, 2008 This is anything he was involved in musically, in any capacity, including his own stuff outside of the Unifics. The other version of "I'm Back For More" is by Tata Vega isn't it? I know there are a few things to add that I just remembered, like the third Bobby Thurston LP in the boxing ring. Anywhere you want to chime in, just go for it! Thanks! -Jason
Steve G Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 There is another vesion of Im back for more on a black label, I'll see if I can find it.
jazzyjas Posted October 23, 2008 Author Posted October 23, 2008 Also, just a quick one... The versions of Back For More by Leo's Sunshipp (the first version) and the one by Marlena Shaw have no involvement from Al J. His version is the third one. What a great track by all of those artists! Would love to hear the other one(s). -J.
Steve G Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 (edited) Neale Sharpe & Debra Franklin - but it's outta Tx so probably Al not directly involved. Wasn't he also involved with the group Aggregation? Edited October 23, 2008 by Steve G
jazzyjas Posted October 23, 2008 Author Posted October 23, 2008 Never heard of either of those, so I'll ring him right now and ask. I'll take a scan and a sound file of that version of BFM you've got. I'd like to show all the versions and I'd love to hear that one. Thanks again for the responses. -J.

jazzyjas Posted October 23, 2008 Author Posted October 23, 2008 Ahhh-that's the one I was looking for. I knew there was a third one on Columbia: 1980 - 45 - Al Johnson - School Of The Groove / You're A Different Lady - COLUMBIA 11348 And Paul-I've done an entire stand-alone story about the Unifics, including everything they've ever done. The Al Johnson story will start on the next page as its own feature. Steve, what are you saying about Ron Carter, Artwork? The Clifton Dyson and Rick Webb-any chance of a high resolution scan? Thanks! -Jason
Steve G Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Robert Mousey Thompson? All these I've listed are ones he may have been on - his name certainly appears on 'em.
