Hello

I'm setting up a new northern soul/mod night at the Boogaloo in Highgate, North London called Save Our Soul (www.myspace.com/saveoursoul/boogaloo). I'm looking into bands and dj's at the minute so if anyone can recommend anyone or offer their services I would be very appreciative!

Anyway, I'm new to all this so nice to meet you all!

Drop by and say hi or feel free to offer me any advice and please join my myspace group! :D

Cheers

Hi Bethan

You're myspace link doesn't put you through. If you look in the soulsource rules I'm not sure this is allowed. Check with Mike or somebody. Also there is a succesful soul club called Boogaloo in South London already established. . so a change of name might be a good idea.

Anyway good luck on the venture and if you need any help or advice PM me.

Kev Moore

Ps. I've sent you a message by PM so check your mail. :P

The Boogaloo is the name of a place that already exists in Highgate.....it is a pub/bar/music place.

Yes - it is at the Boogaloo in Highgate, that's not the name of the night!

I got the myspace wrong! There shouldn't be a / between save our soul and boogaloo. Feel free to take a look, more details to come...

Thanks for all your help so far

Chris L

Well Chris, it's a monthly night celebrating the fusion of Northern Soul and Mod music. It's a collaboration to end all collaboration's. Held at the Boogaloo in Highgate, it promises soul, ska, funk, British Beats, R & B, Talcum powder, Rickenbacker's, Hammond organs, sharp mohair suits, antiquated parka's, pork pie hats, Lambrettas, Vespas, and people having a bloody good time.

That good enough?!

:D

myspace thingy says he is a she :D

also says: "Its Carnaby Street via Harlem via a pier in Wigan."

I don't live in the UK anymore but me and me old muckers always wanted to go to ska/bluebeat/rocksteady night, some from our pre-exclusive soul days circa end 60T's (the real

60Ts as in 1968/69). The idea of pork pies sounds appetising. Having lost my job last Friday I

have to hand back the company car on the 31st so may be some while before I'm over again.

Wotz a Rickenbacker ? Learing to fly a SPAD maybe

Good luck in anycase, no fights please or "who you screwing chav ?" although high doses of

kissing is permitted
