I have uploaded an MP3 of it here - Does anyone know if this is the original or the remix on Bionic?

Cheers Simon! That's one file I've been looking for for a long time. It sounds like the original to me, although the last time I heard it was when I found two copies in East L.A. in '76!

Great rekid!

I got to admit Ive not heard before, but still think its 'average' compared with other similar style tunes. The voice is not strong enough. JMO

Charles Russell has an awesome voice on other sweet soul records, he sings lead on the four dudes on sivad-j, image on janus, and new image (on bionic and other labels). He has a strange sounding, very distinctive voice.

Hi Rob & Karen,

Hope you are both well? Will catch up with ya soon!

Yes it may have been ? But it may have been from the John Manship tape. Do you still have the tape, or can you remember what else was on it ? I am trying to put the tape together again. The tracks I think were on it were these:

1) Nothin' You Can Do - Bobby Womack

2) Meet Me At Midnight - Cindy Lynn And The In Sounds

3) Hey, Hey Girls - The Vines

4) Mystery Of A Miracle - Ruth Christie

5) Don't Forget To Remember - The Greater Experience

6) You're The One - The Twilights

7) Let Nobody Love You - Virginia Blakley

8) No Other Way - The Cautions

9) I Can't See Him Again - The Twans

10) She's Fire - The C.O.D's

11) I Can't Let Him - Patty Lynn

12) Trick Me, Treat Me - The Cobblestones

13) Touch My Heart - The Vonnettes

14) Tied To Your Heart - The Lucky Charms

15) You've Been Cheatin' - Ramona Collins

16) Without A Doubt - The Lovers

17) I Couldn't Care Less - Carol Frederick

18) Lonely Girl Pt.1 - Eric Mercury And The Soul Searchers

19) I'm Not Mad Anymore - Barbara Acklin

20) I Can't Get Enough Of You - Charles Brandy

1) No Right To Cry - Mamie Galore

2) Going On Down The Road - The Sonatas

3) Gypsy - Ellen And The Shandells

4) Ain't That Right - Brice Coefield

5) Just Like You Did Me - Yvonne Vernee

6) Use It Before You Lose It - Bobby Valentin

7) So Glad That I Found You - The Classics

8) For All You've Been - Lenis Guess

9) Why - Willie Mason And All The King's Men

10) There's Room For Me - Jessie Davis

11) Stop And Get A Hold Of Myself - Carole Waller

12) Me And You - The Fantastics

13) Soul Step - The Dogs

14) Yes, You Did - Herman Hitson

15) Bettin' On Love - Len Jewell

16) The Broadway Cissy - Rosco And Friends

17) No One Else Can Take The Place Of You - The Inspirations

18) Pushing A Good Thing Too Far - Sandy Williams

19) It's Rough Out There - Jerry Jackson

20) Isn't It Just A Shame - Kenny Wells

Any help would be great?

Simon

The "Psyche" version was an old Cleggy spin, only ever really heard it played there. I remember Russ playing the "Bionic" version at Wigan a few times it sounded dreadful.....

JM auctioned a Psyche copy not so long back, someone got a bargain as it never seems to turn up..
