Similar to this but with a bigger capacity.

Here's one at Covers 33. Holds 100 https://covers33.co.uk/product_info.php?cPa...products_id=701 comes in black as well.

Persoanally Matt i'd go straight for a 200 metal one, i bought two from Covers 33 and they are excellent, lasted for ages with no problems. You'll soon fill it up and they aren't too big for DJing. Lockable as well.

Here's the 250 one. https://covers33.co.uk/product_info.php?cPa...products_id=401

I'd say save your pennies and go for the Swan Flight case.

I've got four "covers 33" cases and they are falling to bits after a couple of years.

The Swanflight case I have has had things fall on it from a great height, and apart from a minor dent, it's still going strong.

Agree,the Rolls-Royce of boxes..........paid £20 for mine.

The quality does seem to be really good, i know the flight cases are good as my friend has his turntables in them and has done so for quite some time.

"Buy cheap, Pay twice"

I agree, pay a bit more for quality. I haven't had any problems with my Covers 33 cases though, although they don't out of the house that much...

Think im gonna get one of them! ta mate

I have three Swan cases ( 2 x 100 7" singles and 1 x 80 7" singles). They have butterfly catches and you can padlock them. They are very very robust and will protect your investments for a very long time. They have rounded protectors on the corner. They have foam padding on the inside to protect the singles. They also look very professional and look like you mean business when you get behind the decks.

You can call Swan direct on this number: 01740 623555.

I thoroughly recommend them.

Cheers,

Jay

There is a shop on ebay usa that sells the single row 200 count flight cases regularly.

Not sure if they would ship to the uk. My buddy has one and it's huge, but the hardware used is a little on the cheap side. Butterfly latches are cheap alum. not chrome etc.....

https://cgi.ebay.com/Full-ATA-45-Record-Cas...1QQcmdZViewItem

*just checked and they clearly say they will not ship. sorry. shouldn't have said anything..

I'm looking for Swan flight quality box, holds 150 to 200 45's, one long compartment, not two, if you know what I mean, with removeable lid. Any suggestions?

This is the firm that make them Chalky, but for some reason I can't see them on the site. But I used to have one. Held about 150 in a single row, with one of those spring covered in plastic type handles. I'm sure if you contact them they'll sort you one out mate.

Cheers chaps  I'll give swan a ring Wally thumbsup.gif

Swan cases are about the best pre-made cases on the market Chalky but there's just one problem with them & that's the handles.

They're fine for a small box like a 7" 100 count but for anything bigger they don't half dig into your hands if you're carrying them for any length of time.

Got a 12" 100 count Swan case & it's bombproof but still got the scars from carrying it round Bolton one night.

Yes Chalky, they are the ones from Blacka acoustics that I put the link up for earlier. Wasn't sure if Tim still sold them in the shop.

cheers Phil, they are on Beatin' Rhythm page saying they hold 200 records (approx I would guess) yet on BA site as 130 capacity!

Yes, they are all like that, it depends on the covers that you use how many you can get in them. I'm sure I used to get 150 to 160 in the ones that Tim sells. The ones on the Blacka site don't look as long to me. But they are deffinately made by them.

I got a 200 2 lane type a while back and they are built like a tank , reckon you got a bargain there especially a tailor made one

These cases really are the dogs danglies and are made to last , why anyone would buy a cheap case when they hold thousands in precious vinyl is beyond me.

What ive noticed about the swan makes is the handle seems to of the centre of gravity of the box thats always put me of even thou they look fantastic

I thought that Ted, but in practice it allows you to hold the box closer to your body and stops it banging against your legs. Great boxes IMO.

I was having problems with lifting all my old boxes of various sizes due to my illness (oh for those 1970's days when I used to run up the stairs to venues with a 600 count box in each hand, and yes of course you needed to take 1200 records to do a four hour soul nite!!) so I decided that the best thing to do was find something smaller for the odd occasions that I go out dj'ing these days. I knew I was going to HTFRec's in B'ham to buy a new turntable, so I searched through their site to see what boxes they had of a smaller capacity. One, a matt silver with shiney corners flight case style etc, looked quite narrow in depth but 3 rows, seemed to fit the bill as it quoted capacity of 150 (even my brain could work out they meant three rows of fifty) and I reckon on my best day I could lift that amount (or ask my son to, as he usually gets landed with the job these days)

I took ages making my mind up over which deck, and even longer on which stylus to buy, so the box was almost an afterthought. When the salesman got it out for me to buy, along with all the other stuff I'd bought I thought it looked bigger than I'd imagined, but by then I just wanted to get all my purchases in the motor and get home.

Several weeks went by before I decided to transfer some 45's into the box. I quite looked forward to the challenge of whittling down my 250 box, playing through, deciding which dancefloor disasters would get left behind. Knowing things like capacities are only ever approximations I thought what I'd do first was fill the new box with records from my 250 box and see how many I still had left, which would tell even a dummy like me thats how many I had to leave out when I'd sorted through. I knew it should have been 100 but you know some 45's are on thicker vinyl and many acetates are 3 times the size of those thin RCA wdj's.

So I started to transfer them a handful at a time, from the old 2 row 250 box, to this 3 row 150. Pretty soon I knew something was off kilter.

They all went in - with room to spare !

I went and got more records and continued filling it. Now some of my 45's are only in a cardboard sleeve and others are in the company sleeve inside the cardboard, and the odd few picture sleeves are in card and plastic, so they're not all the same thickness. The eventual count was 284 - some funny 150 count box this is !!!

I thought about getting rid of the box, but I didn't, because I liked it. Now either my son, or one of my put upon friends get the job of lifting it into venues, with it straining at the seams with about 290 wedged in ( well you always think of one more that you absolutely need to take - well I do just as I'm about to leave home)

I've got some smaller boxes and I even bought some of those cheapo HMV 50 count size, but for now I'll stick with my " 150 " ,

..... and yes it has got rounded edges

p.s. just looked, it's not on their site anymore, shame, I was thinking about buying another!
