Little-stevie
Yes harmless fun and the best foooking laugh i have had for a while... Hid behind the door and turned the sound up, just like you do with them horror films when you were a kid... You can't have expected anything else on that silly cun'ts show... It fills the gap after Deal Or No Deal and before the Simpsons... It won't change anything, its just a bit of fun and a big up for the Casino circus Link to comment Social source share
SteveM
The MOST UNCOOL thing I have ever SCENE. Liam 'the jimmy cranky of dance' ski-ing in the snow with the ,'dads Army reserves' and not realising the viewers are laughing at them and not with them, See Jaime Winston try to run as L tries to get her to dance at the end...... one of the few times i have been absolutely shocked by something....lets hope the films as good Bit unfair comparing great British comedy with Dads Army Paul Link to comment Social source share

Jez Jones
I switched on to watch The Simpsons , and pardon me for this - WHAT THE F**K I HAVE I JUST WITNESSED ? ....... I shouted Lady B in to watch what was going on , and all she did was shake her head , and chuckled when PO'G informed us that Dustin Stanley was the Godfather of Northern Soul ......... I am sorry - and no disrespect to the dancers - but I am ashamed of what I saw , and I am afraid that the scene has suffered a big loss of credibility because of this .......... Malc Burton Malc let me tell you a quick aside about the Simpsons--Just got back from a break in Nerja, spain yesterday. We went to a village in the mountains but it was siesta time so everything was shut --save this one crappy little bar in a back street. I needed a pack of ciggies so I said to the better half 'you better wait here it looks dodgy in there' I went in and there were 14/15 burly, swarthy spaniards all sat at the bar and were oblivious to me walking in and out . As I beat a hasty retreat out I looked above the bar in this 'hovel' and there was a 32inch plasma tv with the simpsons on in English .These lads were glued!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So in my book the Simpsons are universal and if its good enough for them its good enough for us A surreal moment------A bit like paul o Grady Link to comment Social source share

Little-stevie
Need a tonic now.... Deal or no deal really got me down when the bloke thought is dead wife would help him get the 20 thousand and he walked away with a quid and tears all round.. Needed a toilet break after that and then that Wigan roadshow.. That Dermott bloke and the cast at the end being taught the slippy side/ back drop( with a whoo from the salppers in the front row), now you aint ever gonna top that, not ever.. Gonna hit the bottle now and get myself sorted before Emmerdale, tonight we have that Sugden wife beater found naked in the barn with a few sheep and no protection.... .. Personally I never did like any outside publicity about the scene as they always fcuk it up and show the divs festooned with badges and shite like that. Did I read it right when it came on screen that 4 million people went to the Casino Carry On Up The Casino The 4 million people is one of Russ's facts and I have solved it's calculation ! 8 years @ 52 weeks @ 4 nights@ 2,500 people = 8 * 52 * 4 * 2,500 = 4,160,000 people which rounds to 4 million. A few problems with that It assumes 2 all nighters and 2 soul nights every week It WRONGLY assumes 2,500 people at every event It assumes therefore that people never went more than once ! and that how you get to 4 million !!!!! It's a bit like the 100,000 + members When I was a kid I was a member of UNCLE but I didn't go out spying Both membership cards just cost a stamp and an SAE Link to comment Social source share

Dave
Just a travesty imo. Another example of how the scene is viewed by the media. Another example of how the scene is, don't you mean? Let's be honest, that was a fair reflection of 80% of the soul nights every weekend. It's a nostalgia scene for the majority. I don't understand why everyone is getting so uptight about this programme, what did you expect? It's a frivolous, teatime light entertainment show, not a documentary. Do you really think the show's audience care if Winstanley exaggerates a bit, or that they want to know about the way a minority of the scene has evolved into the small upfront nights that a few hundred anoraks attend today? It's not life and death! Link to comment Social source share
