Guest Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 the 60s magical music tour £5 (includes coffee or tea at the Twisted Wheel) Take a tour of some of the key sites from Manchester's musical heyday. Discover where all star acts such as The Hollies, The Small Faces, Ike and Tina Turner, Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix and The Bay City Rollers plus many more played on the circuit. Visit the spots where Manchester's Northern Soul crowd used to hang out, and the celebrated haunts like the Oasis club where entry cost 25p, and find out how the Twisted Wheel kept its music Manchester's best loved secret. A must, whether you want to reminisce about the good old days or find out the roots of musical Manchester. I've just been asked to look at this as an option for our christmas party at work!!... They want me to plan this and then they want an authentic night at the wheel... But it feels wrong.. I would knowingly be taking "sightseer's" They dont understand why I think this is a bad idea as I like Northern. Am I wrong to want to keep them out of the wheel?.. on the other hand, I want to give Pete and Jackie all the support I can and if any of them get into it, great. Advice appreciated. Jayne.x

Guest Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Give it a shot, i think if most of us are truthful we where all sightseers at our first soul night. Like you also mention you might end up introducing someone new to the scene which can't be a bad thing.

I dont really want to mix work and wheel at all if I get help it.. which is what I feel guilty about. If no one had introduced me, well... Actually Last time I did "meal and wheel" I went tired after eating out and only lasted in the wheel for an hour. I nearly collapsed on poor Bernie. Jayne.x
