Prophonics 2029 Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 (edited) I know the Tuba & Volt sound different powerful bass on Tuba and echo treble sound on the Volt seems to be 10 seconds longer as well and tad faster . Edited October 8, 2008 by Prophonics 2029
Guest Imogen Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 I like this one but not as colourful as the Volt but same colour as the Tuba issue.-Sounds fantastic though!
45cellar Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 DEREK MARTIN - SLY GIRL - TUBA 2010 Posted info: Definitely Easier to find on TUBA

Yup, has to be the UK Stax issue for me too! Hard to explain why though... I hadn't played it for about 20 years as I figured it sounded a bit "shallow" in later years, until a friend raved over it when it came out on a compilation CD and I got to like it all over again! (Also, I'd clean forgotten it was another Teddy Randazzo and Victoria Pike song!) Edited October 9, 2008 by mel brat

For me, Teddy Randazzo's finest moment (Northern wise!) since I first heard this record, it's stayed in my all time top ten, where so many others have moved in and out! Did he not co-write it with Landy McNeil? steve
Guest NS101 Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Brilliant record and just goes to show there are still some great sounds at £10-15 still out there. And yeah, on Volt rather harder to find than Tuba.
Dave Moore Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Anyone ever seen a Tuba Demo? I have the Stax, Tuba stockers and a Volt B/W Demo but nenver seen a Tuba Demo of this. Anyone?
Ernie Andrews Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Anyone ever seen a Tuba Demo? I have the Stax, Tuba stockers and a Volt B/W Demo but nenver seen a Tuba Demo of this. Anyone? Yes was identical design but white and said " Not for sale" on it Infact I think I know where it is so Im going after it if its still there!
Premium Stuff Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Here's a scan from eBay of the Tuba release to compare with the scan above. This one doesn't have the Detroit Address and is missing the Teddy Randazzo production credit Cheers Richard premium_stuff@hotmail.com

This one doesn't have the Detroit Address and is missing the Teddy Randazzo production credit Cheers Richard premium_stuff@hotmail.com This has to be pretty scarce with the omission of address and teddy credit. As for seeing a Demo. I once had one. It only said plug side on the soul power side, the disc being the common one with the address etc, but it was not white.
Dave Moore Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Can anyone confirm yet that there are either two demos of the Tuba release or that there is actually a W/D? Scan if possible chaps.
Guest oxo1961 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Mark, I have a copy on French Stateside!
Prophonics 2029 Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Mark, I have a copy on French Stateside! Have you a scan OXO TIA.
Premium Stuff Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Here is a demo which I have just picked up. It's essentially the same as the issue except for the PLUG SIDE text on the Soul Power side. Cheers Richard premium_stuff@hotmail.com
