Not much to choose between theirs and Spyder's version IMO - they're both great! I also like - beside the obvious ones - Dee Dee Warwick's version very much...

In fact, the only version I've heard that doesn't grab me totally is Songi Clay's - she just doesn't sing it as well as anyone else who's recorded it. I had a copy of the Monticellos in my hand when he asked me did I know who designed the label, with a big smile on his face.

No, I'm not "sure about this", which is why I said "I believe that..." and asked if anyone could confirm or deny this absolutely for me! I'm only basing what I believe on what my ears are telling me. Joe Harris is definitely singing on the record, his voice is so immediately recognisable that you can't miss him whoever he's singing for or with...
