Guest alison Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Happy. Your song is on the decks ! WHAT IS YOURS ???? For me & John - it's any version of "You are, You are."............. House version - Black Masses Disco Version - Linda Clifford Soul version - Curtis Mayfield (Wonderful Person) What makes you and your loved one go ga-ga....??? None of these versons tap into the Northern sensibility by the way, it's just what does it for us - but what make you and your loved one go gooey/sloppy/and all that stuff ? Any genre acceptable

Steve G Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 I am afraid that as my missus is a "headbanger" there are no such tunes in our house.
Ged Parker Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 Depends on the day but could be: Soul Brothers Six 'I'll be Loving You' or Jerry Butler 'Moody Woman'
Sebastian Posted April 11, 2005 Posted April 11, 2005 The Wannadies -You and Me Song link Whoa! Hadn't heard that tune in ages, but went to a C86/indie/twee club this past saturday and they played it to a packed dancefloor with people singing along etc. Sounded very nice indeed.
Guest Rich Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Little Robbie's 'Let me out of the dog (house)'
Guest Rich Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 .....but seriously, The Isley's 'This old heart of mine' has especially kept me sane when i've been in such shit-holes as the Congo, Falklands, Gulf And it's still weak for her 20 odd years on ps, and it's about the only soul record she'll dance to
Guest mattmale Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 The Emotions - You got the best of my love played it as the first dance at our wedding...

Steve G Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 JR Bailey - Love won't wear off - Calla (Much better than the rarer Universal Joint effort) I have yet to find a decent quality recording of JRB though, every copy I've had sounds like it was recorded in an underwater diving bell....and am still after Universal Joint
Geoff Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 This Old Heart Of Mine - The Isley Brothers This was the first record my wife bought me when we started going out, at the time it was first issued.
Guest katep Posted April 13, 2005 Posted April 13, 2005 Me and Shane: Jo Ann Garrett- A Whole New Plan The first record he bought me was: Freddy King- 100yrs which I absolutely love to death.
