Guest Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 A little bit hurt - Julian Covay , Breakout - Mitch Ryder . When the room was packed and no room on the dance floor, and everybody was going for it, there was such a great atmosphere when records like "A Little Bit Hurt" - Julian Covay were played!! special moments in time! Northern Scene now is like a kiddies playground, compared to those days!

Anybody confirm PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got one of them that plays in my head from M's. I remember hearing "Spider Man" by "Will Power" (demo only on Private Stock I since found out). It's the theme tune to the American version of the cartoon Spiderman. There must have only been about 30 of us in the place at that time and I can't for the life of me remember who the jock was. I know one of the folks in there, but they deny all knowledge to this day. I can't be completely nuts (well, errrm, no I'm not). Any of the other 28 out there ever remember it being played?

Guest Steve Lehair Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 (edited) gimme some lovin and keep on runnin Spencer Davies both ripped the place up but they never play em in oldies spots now. Now bare with me but i seem to rmember that it was Dave Evison who played th e Snake in M,s and made it the"legend" of a sound that it once was Steve Edited January 18, 2009 by Steve Lehair
Guest Little Anthony Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 I agree with the above. Tony Newman was the top sound in M's. I once asked Pep to play it at the Laffyette in W-ton. He said he didn't play "rock and roll records", fair comment now I think. Other sounds I recall were Joe Frazier "First Round Knockout", Curtis Mayfied "Move on up", Towana Barnes "You don't mean it", Creative Source "Don't be afraid" and R Dean Taylor "Let's go somewhere" - (always played by Kenny Spence.) I also rememer Steve Whittle playing "Popa's got a brand new pig bag" by Pig Bag, covered up as Peg Leg Moffitt and the DJ's beingforced to play "Time Out" by the All-Night Band just before it was released on Casino Classics.
