Cover-up Posted October 1, 2008 Posted October 1, 2008 Has anyone noticed there are two versions of this? It came out twice on Calla (different flips) and both have slightly different vocal takes... most noticeable in her phrasing during the title.

Well that's 2 records to play at an allnighter or 4 if you play the B-sides as well.

Chalky Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Yep and I have had the same 2 and not the alternative take yet. Calla 143 and 152, not that thee is a lot in 'em 143 the better take for me.
Prophonics 2029 Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Calla 143 and 152, not that thee is a lot in 'em 143 the better take for me. Agree but the quality of the 143 is a poor recording or from an acetate.
Dave Pinch Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 nobodies mentioned `what have I got to lose `yet. this also came out twice but as far as i know the same take. anybody know any different. dave
Chalky Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Agree but the quality of the 143 is a poor recording or from an acetate. You sure? Had both and both about same quality wise, got shut of the 152.
John Benson Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 nobodies mentioned `what have I got to lose `yet. this also came out twice but as far as i know the same take. anybody know any different. dave I've wondered about that one before Dave, I have the one with "Broomstick horse cowboy" - the first release and also the LP on Sonet with it on. The only difference in those - as far as I can tell, is the LP version is in stereo Don't know about the other release though... Lovely record though isn't it!
Prophonics 2029 Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 You sure? Had both and both about same quality wise, got shut of the 152. Just folds on the dynamic parts the other seems a bit crisper like Butchs version. I have it some where try and dig it out later.
