Bleeker Bobs on Bleeker Street still turns thing up but in my experience nothing too rare just nice things at $ for £ prices.

Upstairs Downstairs has been scoured by every brit who visited NYC...but you never know??

Personally i think you need to go out & about...Bronx, Brooklyn and look for dodgy unlikely places....?? Pack a colt!!

Good Luck

David

You will be able to pick up nice LPs though..just go walkabout Greenwich SoHo .....

Im sure other recommendations will come but dont forget there are some exiled UK folk over there ..my old friend Dave Withers for example

Went a couple of Years ago mate, didn't do any research before we went , so just walked for Miles and Miles down Broadway etc , found a couple of bits (not Rare but cheap) off some street seller, selling stuff CD's/Videos from boxes on a street Corner (Dee Dee Sharpe-Cameo LP/Jnr.Walker - Roadrunner) $2 each, but if you head down to Greenwich Village there's a few

shops down there with bits to be had, In one shop (can't remember bloody name will see if I've

got address when I get home and let you have it) they had a brilliant collection of Albums/12" and also a couple of Boxes of 45's behind the counter which the guy let me browse through and listen to them on the Decks, again nothing rare but cheap $5-10. There was another place nearby that

had 1000,s of CD's in the main shop but downstairs 1000's of 45's but my Missus was getting bored by now (even though I tried to Involve her by looking through dusty cardboard boxes under the tables for 'any record by a bloke called Frank Wilson on a label called Soul' ) and she never bloody found one! anyway sorry to waffle on but will see if I have any of the address' and post

them up.

Cheers

There are also regular fairs at the Holiday Inn around 52nd Street or so off Columbus Circle, I was there a few weeks ago and got a few decent albums at nice prices. Few boxes of unpriced 45's well worth going through if you have time, but not full of bargains and as has been suggested already well picked through. Goldmine will have dates.

If you need some new cartridges, stylus, mixers (!) etc get to 'Rock and Soul' behind Maceys they also have a fair few 70'/80's albums to browse.

Halcyon in Brooklyn on Water Street is ok if you are near by and its a good view of Manhattan from the Waterside, nice ice cream too !

What I found disappointing was the lack of new house 12's out on the shelves, Dance Tracks has shut and so has Satellite that used to be on The Bowery.

When in Greenwich Village get some Pizza from the shop at the junction of Bleeker and Carmine.

Enjoy your trip
