Tommaso Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Is this seller ok? Been checking his sales list and everything seems to be mint minus? I'm just a little suspicious as ive never dealt with them before haha Probably the biggest seller in the world, never had problems with him, even if his mint- could be someone else's ex+, but nothing to be worried IMO.
Tabs Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 No problems with Craig. All records I've had from him have been as described and arrived fairly quickly.
Guest Brett F Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Is this seller ok? Been checking his sales list and everything seems to be mint minus? I'm just a little suspicious as ive never dealt with them before haha You are joking aren't you ?, Craig Moerer must be one of the worlds leading used record dealers, he has sold out of print vinyl since 1972, possibly has over two million vinyl records in stock, i have had his list for years, and never had anything but great dealings with the fella'................. Got my Dolly Gilmore, Brenda Starr etc from him at brilliant prices before they mushroomed. Brett

Supercorsa Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 I've never had a problem and also very quick with delivery! Also beeks I'd have thought 99.9% feedback on 48459 transactions may have been a big clue.
Guest Beeks Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Thanks guys...it's just the first time i've ever bought anything off him...he has too many of my wants...all in pristine condition...so just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting a load of boots

Sometimes it can take time, depending on what postage you paid for. I think the longest I waited for a delivery was nearly a month. But all their parcels are well packaged and I've never had anything lost in the post.

When the records are out of stock they are listed as 'out of stock', so nothing with that I think??? 2 weeks is pretty long indeed, but you know shipping times can vary heavily. Believe me, the guy didn't become so big by being a dodgy seller...
Guest john s Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 You can call him up if you're worried https://www.recordsbymail.com/help/contact.php brilliant seller!
TOAD Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 JUST BOUGHT SOME 45S OF HIM AND IM IMPRESSED ! HE REFUNDED WITHIN AN HOUR THE EXCESS PNP DELIVERY DOES SAY 6-10 DAYS ! IF YOU LOOK
Stevie Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Been two weeks and I still havn't received my records...even though i've received from the states off other dealers in less than half that time...been looking at the neutral and negative comments and it seems they list records even when out of stock...I must admit it has not been a positive experience...i'm a little disappointed. In my experience he can be slower than some, however I have never experienced any problems. His packaging is the best around and records always arrive safely. If you've ordered records there can't be any problem with stocking as he mails to confirm record lifted and ready for despatch prior to payment.
AlanB Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Been two weeks and I still havn't received my records... If there is a problem I'd bet it is with the postal service. I've bought from him lots of times and I would say he is 100% reliable. Anyway if you have paid by Paypal you would have their protection to fall back on. Alan

I've waited 6 or 7 weeks from the states a few times. Craig's fine, the sales list takes a week to read when it pops through the door but no complaints here either. Jayne.
Guest Beeks Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Cheers folks...suppose i'll just have to be patient
wolfie66 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Reliable and trustworthy, I've always received 45's as described and brilliantly packaged. Had to wait nearly a month only once, which is as long as I've waited off Brit sellers - a lot can happen between here and there. Also some bargains to be had with the exchange rates, I've just got my Gloria Lynn "Speaking of Happiness" at just about half price and the same with my Franciscans............... "Buy with confidence" is the phrase methinks
soulsalmon Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Cheers folks...suppose i'll just have to be patient I't will be worth the wait mate ,as previously stated Craig is one of the biggest on the planet,up there with the likes of Val Shively,Koppel,Brownie,Lew Stanley. You wont be dissapointed .if you you ever get the chance to visit Portland call on him
boba Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Cheers folks...suppose i'll just have to be patient did you get the shipping confirmation email? They always send a shipping email saying when it was shipped. If not, they may have not noticed your payment, that happened to me once and I had to email them. I have ordered from them probably 50-100 times though and not gotten anything lost. They are also a big warehouse with multiple employees, it usually takes them a few days to ship after their order, but they always send the confirmation email.
KevH Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 don't worry Beeks, sometimes you have to be patient with people..................................................
Steve L Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 CM is top class in my experience, always delivered in 7 days

Probably there's something going a little mixed up at the moment. I'm waiting also for records from him, they were shipped on the 22nd of september. I'm getting nervous, too. Seller protection won't help much, as they were real bargains imo. Martin
Benji Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Seller protection won't help much, as they were real bargains imo. Martin bargains from moerer? which bargains if you don't mind me asking? 10/15 years ago you could get many bargains from him. but in recent years? i gave up browsing his lists as there weren't any decent priced records any more, he eventually gave up sending any lists to me as well

Sutty Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Craig is 101% a great seller, excellent packaging, perfect gradings, and he is cheaper than almost anyone else on postage from the USA. I ordered a record off him recently and it took a month to come through so don't panic - he pulled it out and checked it before sending, noticed a tiny edge-chip on it, mailed me and offered a full refund or 50% off. when it arrived it was exactly as described and played perfectly, like every other record i've ever bought from him. There's a reason why people Craig and John Manship have done so well selling records - they're really reliable sellers. cheers Sutty
Gene-r Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Yep - Craig is a top dealer with many years behind him.

Guest Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Dont panic Captain Beeky, he`s a top notch bloke with a great reputation.
Guest Lynsey_Wez Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 I recently bought a record from him. i think it was shipped about 5 days after i paid for it, but it didnt arrive for just over 4 weeks. longer than usual from the USA! i didnt check the wrapper but maybe it was shipped by surface mail instead of airmail? anyway the record was mint & wrapped really well in layers of card & bubble wrap. no worries there!

It is 2008 afterall. just sold one of my $30 moerer buys for $200. Did also keep a copy for myself. here's one for free... get modulations on mozel if you want a current moerer bargain at $5 you can't go wrong.
Dylan Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Probably the biggest seller in the world, never had problems with him, even if his mint- could be someone else's ex+, but nothing to be worried IMO. seriously ? he's the strictist grader of 45s i've ever come across. Undergrades IMO.
boba Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 You know what I don't think I have...just checked my mail and I received an invoice...also got my paypal payment confirmation from paypal but no shipping confirmation just email them, it takes about a day but they always respond. The one time they missed my payment it was also via paypal (you can also pay them directly via credit card if you want).
Mak Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 If your that bothered , just check your email .He normally sends a shipping email with delivery within 14 days of email
Prophonics 2029 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 And you always get that personal service feel to the deal even when he has soooo many records on ebay to sell.
Suzannek Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 bargains from moerer? which bargains if you don't mind me asking? 10/15 years ago you could get many bargains from him. but in recent years? i gave up browsing his lists as there weren't any decent priced records any more, he eventually gave up sending any lists to me as well Over the last few years have got copies of: Tabby Thomas "Popeye Train" for $6 Little Jimmy Ray "You Need to Fall In Love" for $30 Have bought other records off Craig also and have never had a problem with shipping/postage/packaging or anything. The longest time incidently I have ever had to wait for a record was 6 weeks and that was coming from Germany. I emailed the guy and he emailed me back and said he hadn't posted it yet as he wasn't a professional seller I felt like emailing him and saying I am not a professional buyer, but I paid ya straightaway!! Suz x
Guest Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Only prob with craig I.ve had is that he's got so many records he only grades them by sight. I bought one of him that looked mint but was so warped I couldn't play it. He offered me a complete refund straight away and payed the return postage regards Ian
Sebastian Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Craig is one of the best record dealers I've ever dealt with. I've had EX records from UK dealers that are worse than Craig's VG- grading! I recently had a look at Craig's eBay feedback and noticed that he's recieved 22223 positive feedback ratings during the past 12 months. That's over 60 positive feedbacks PER DAY every day during the past year! Pretty decent having in mind that only about 50% of all buyers in my experience bother to leave feedback. And on top of that he sells LOADS directly from his website as well. I buy a bunch of records from him basically every week and yes, sometimes it takes a while for them to arrive (the worst was 5 weeks!) but they always do arrive. I don't know why they sometimes take so long to arrive because his packages are always sent out promptly after payment has been made. Packages can't be sent by "surface mail" from the US anymore, that "service" was luckily discontinued a while back.
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Couple of things that might help to explain Craig's recent slower-than-usual shipping - he used to 'bulk ship' our records to either Germany or Holland, can't remember which, by one of these Deutsche-Post type services. Once they got there, they were forwarded to us in the normal manner. He still bulk ships, but he's recently changed to a service that's based in, I believe, San Francisco. Since that happened, things have slowed dramatically - the last three packets of 45s that I've bought off him have all taken at least 4 weeks to get here. I believe that Craig is aware of this, and is working on trying to get things back on track. Should also mention that it does say, quite clearly in his website 'checkout', that items are charged at an 'economy air' paostage rate, which should lead a buyer to beleive that their records might take a bit longer than usual to reach any destination. Craig does not use the 'M' grade - 'M- is his top listing, unless the item in question is "SS". Finally, I can't believe that there's someone on here who's never bought a record from Craig Moerer!!!!!!!!

I think this thread is a wind up ....Where has the guy who started it been for last 20 years...On the moon?? I think Craig even ships to there, actually. KevH Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 Wait till you get a sales mag Beeks. You'll neeed a magnifying glass from the nearest £1 Shop. . Never had a problem with CM's RBM,even if records are delayed there's always someone at the end of the computer to deal with it.Chased up one record(after 3 weeks )only to find it was still on the shelf, but booked out.Sent it on no problem

Prophonics 2029 Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 (edited) Yeah you might say that Beeks but I have seen you out and your about 60 feet tall you could walk to Craig's in about 3 hrs and pick the frekin! thing up. Edited October 10, 2008 by Prophonics 2029

Haha I know Proph...was only in the car home that I found out it was you!! Got my Dolly Gilmore, Brenda Starr etc from him at brilliant prices before they mushroomed. Brett Craig Moorer's prices have steadily been increasing also which is annoying. It used to be high only on known big ticket items but you could get oddities relatively cheap. Over the last two years even those have gone away. The last thing I regret not buying from him was the magicians "love lets try it again" for $150, I was like "I need that but I'll get it cheaper if it ever comes up on ebay", the next week it finally hits ebay and goes for $500.
