Anyone got a good pic of the old wigan flyer i did have a great one but cant find it anywhere(might have been on the other pc)i did send it to a few people on here last year so wouldn't mind the favour returned.

You are correct it was a poster,for some reason i didnt get one back then,anyway i did get a great jpeg image of one off the net but seemed to have lost it.

I dont think there is many originals about,i seen one on ebay years back but it was a copy.

Its just that the pics in the corners have some casino friends on and i would like a copy for someone.

Bloody great...found it,i did a file recovery on a old hard drive a while back and saved the pics in a folder and there it was....pm me if you want it .

Yeah i reckon most have been binned over the years but there bound to be few originals about probably cost more than frank wilson-do i love you tho .

She used to scowl at me on a sat night ,she used to say "no money to get in and not even old enough"why do you come?...to see you Hilda i answered once ,she would let me in after the rush most nights bless her.

Yes it is an original neil, she was great mrs woods, we once went with my mate who`s birthday it was we litterally carried him in about 1am, we all got a good telling off for getting him so drunk we were all stood with our heads hanging down with our hands behind our backs was like being at school, then she said don`t do it again wished my mate a happy birthday and sent us on up stairs, allways took her a xmas card every year

I have one rolled up in a tube in the garage it's been in that tube since i moved from Wigan all them years ago. I had three posters from off the ouitside wall of the casino, i give them to a good mate Andrew Hadfield when i moved so they stayed in Wigan!. last time i spoke to Andrew he still had them but i think he moved to France a few years ago , He's a top lad is Andrew

The poster i have posted is a good decent sized jpg file so it can be resized without losing too much quality,i have done A4 glosy prints of it and they are fine.

I have tried that its been reduced by SS.

I know it's a long shot and a lot of time has passed since they were printed but you just never know.Try and find out from Russ who the original printer was, they might still have the artwork filed away as they were litho printed in 4 colour process. Lot's of these old town printers never throw anything away and if they still have it might be willing to part with it. Bet the original negs. would be worth a kings ransom to a collector. The printers would probably think anyone was mad wanting them after all this time, just don't tell em why. Good luck. Tony e. oz k.t.f.

We've still got one as well along with quite a few others, have been decorating the room so they will be going back up soon in new frames. Shame I didn't see this before but only just got back from our hols as your only over the bridge you could have come over and got it copied.

youve reminded me of the time my mother threw all my memorabilia out, along with me spencers with patches, and also my t-shirts with patches! all i have left is a signed napkin of edwin starr. i expected her to keep it all safe in the cupboard... i think the phrase rhymes with clucking bell!!!

I'd be gutted, we've got all kinds hanging around including my full circle skirt and a pair of trousers I used to wear I still don't believe I used to be that thin . The bottom of the trousers are about twice the width of the waist and I'd had to have the waist taken in.

Can any one scan just sections of them, I have seen most of these pictures elsewhere so the original negatives of these shots and in black white as well are around .

I NEVER GOT ONE OF THOSE POSTERS FOR BEING AT THE 7th ANNI, BUT THINK ON THE SECOND ANNI IS WAS A 02.00 AM K.O AND OLD DECEASED LAD FROM STOKE [ SLUDGE ] DID THE HONNOURS IN THE BEACHCOMBER AND BOOTED THE PANELS IN UNDER THE MAIN ROOM STAGE JUST INFRONT OF THE JOCKS [ decks ] PARDON THE PUNN. THIS HAPPENED ON A REGULAR OCCURANCE IN THE EARLY DAYS WHEN MEMBERSHIP WAS A MUST AND THE DOORS WERE OPENED WHEN FULL, AS A ONE OUT AND ONE IN BASIS UNTIL THE HEAVIES THOUGHT OTHERWISE ! OR A BIG ENOUGH BACKHANDER.
