Just found this in amongst some of my memorabilia, a flyer from one of Alan and Steve Walls doos, circa 85/86?. Makes great reading, sums up what it was all about, always a great time at these events and two great lads as well. :D .....Especially love the entrance fee...Equity members £2...Other Plebs £2.50...Priceless

As i recall it went on much later than planned. The owner of the venue (it was my local) was a mate of my dad's in fact i'm sure i recommended the venue to Steve & Alan.

Were my awld buddy's the Walls bros involved with this flyer? Reason I ask is the prose on it is true Alan Walls style; the man should be a comedy writer

Edit ..er... just read first post again and contact numbers for Alan and Steve. I'll email Alan with this link, we need to get him on here

It's a fair cop, Guv! Damn you pesky kids!

Harry - I did the flyer, a time-honoured, no expense incurred felt tip pen jobbie, photocopied at work. I can see how my work can be confused with that of art school graduate Stewart Spence!

Derek - you were indeed Mr Fixit, the go between, the mover and shaker: nothing happened in Kennoway without your express say so. I think we managed another 2 nights there, I seem to remember the good ol' boys of the resident Country & Western Club kicking up a fuss with the guv'nor (Larry Monaghan?) about us playing Black music. Have I just imagined that? Definately remember two bawbags in cowboy outfits turning up one night, hoping for a lynching. Like something out of Blazing Saddles!

Andy - if you have any more Soul Skeletons in the closet, run them by my solicitor next time, there's a good lad!

Good afternoon, Chaps. Long time no see. I've been lurking around these parts for ages, but despite Byrney's prompting, apart from a wee flurry of activity last December I've never really got down to posting. Hopefully this will spur me into meaningful contribution - or talking pish!

Trust you're all well, in the pink and tickety boo. Steve says hello, too.

Cheers

Alan

by the way, yes, I still have my records; yes they will be sold (at some point); no, there won't be any bargains!

H - last time I saw Peem was briefly at Kerso's 40th. I think he's living in Edinburgh. You know, if his voice gets any quieter I doubt anyone will actually hear anything he ever says!

Hi Alan,

I hear rumours that you live in bandit country these days?

Am planning a long overdue trip to costa del kennoway soon (my dad not keeping that well at the moment).

Can you pm me steve's phone no if you get a chance.

cheers

Derek

Remember it well...Kennoway is in deepest, darkest Fife and the coach driver kept saying "I'm not sure where we are, I haven't been to Fife since the war!" - and we were coming all the way from Edinburgh...
