Hello!

All records are US originals unless

stated. I try to grade accurately and with consistency, but if you

still feel that you have been done wrong, get in touch asap (within 7

days from receiving the records) and we will sort it out with a

refund, reduction, replacement or something.

PLEASE READ!

PAYMENT!

CASH in UK pounds (or any other major currency after prior arrangement!) is what I prefer, I usually accept paypal and can probably do it this time too, but it will be a bit more complicated since my account is temporarily closed down, get in touch first anyway. For paypal transactions I always require that the buyer adds 4% to cover their fees. I can also accept bank account transfers via the IBAN system within Europe (from the UK too I presume). If you don't know what this is, ask at your bank! It is a safe, and almost free, direct transfer from a bank account to another persons bank account in another country, it takes few days for the transfer. Get in touch, most problems can be solved! I do NOT accept any kind of checks etc.

If you have friends who you feel should be getting this list, or you

see this somewhere and want to join up (lists go out earlier to list

members!), go to https://groups.yahoo.com/nordicsoul/ and join.

Or send an empty e-mail to nordicsoul-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

TO HEAR ANY RECORD, give me a call and I'll play it for you. Best

chance of reaching me between 1700 and 2000 CET, other times (not

after 2200 CET please) are also possible. +46 40 26 27 76, ask for

Christian. I can now also make sound files (MP3's) and send out, but please do not abuse

this option since my time is limited. Many classic tunes and others can be heard at www.soulclub.org and www.raresoulman.co.uk if you search around a bit.

If you for some reason decide you no longer want

a record after placing an order, would you PLEASE let me know?

SHIPPING by regular airmail costs £3 for 1-3 45's within all of

Europe & UK. Registered mail covering value of around £35 costs £8

for 1-3 45's also within all of Europe & UK.

IF YOU WANT SOME RECORDS BUT ARE NOT HAPPY WITH SOME PRICES, I WILL CONSIDER ALL REASONABLE SUGGESTIONS! Discounts possible on multiple purchases, especailly of the cheaper end items.

PART 1

All new additions, not too many, but some good bits and there's more coming up.

*LaVell Kamma - Try To Keep Yourself Uptight - Sure Shot EX £125

(Storming up-tempo female R&B/northern dancer. Rare label number. Last time Manship had it he got something around £200 on auction for it)

*Emanuel Laskey - I'd Rather Leave On My Feet - DT M- £325

This is the much rarer silver label release and it is a different version than the more common green release. Seems I was a bit hasty with the price on this recently. This sold for £475 (!) on Manship's auction some months ago. I have been offered some things in trade but at the moment I need cash.

*LaVern Baker - I'm The One To Do It - Brunswick DJ M £100 (Beautiful copy of this soulful classic)

*Phillip James - Wide Awake In A Dream - SOUL EX £110 (This is possibly the rarest and best version of this classic beat ballad. Superb atmospheric production and very soulful vocal. I think this is a Jamaican label and the label design is just stunning. This tune also came out on UK Island. £150 in guide...)

*Adams John - So In Love - Silver Bull M- £75 (Great soulful dancer that has been getting some spins in the last couple of years. Last copy I had I sold for £125 more than a year ago, this copy has no label on the flipside (topside fine though) and hence I knocked £50 off the price)

*Ron & The Embracers - You Came Into My Heart - Spectrum M- £40 (Good latin flavoured mid-tempo northern dancer. Has been getting some spins in recent years and has sold for more than double this price.)

*Ila Vann - Can't Help Loving That Man Of Mine - HITO M £40 (Rare Spanish issue of this classic that comes with a lovely picture sleeve in M-)

*Willie & Anthony - I'm Tired of A One Way Love Affair/Groovin' - Blue Candle M- £20 (Two good and soulful southern early 70's dancers)

*Willie & Anthony - I Can't Leave Your Love Alone - Blue Candle M- £40 (Ultra soulful crossover tune, superb production. Highly recommended!)

*James Havior - Girl, Girl, Girl - Crow M- £60 (Great, sparse and atmsopheric late 60's northern dancer. Same Detroit label as Joseph Webster. Flip is a funk instrumental)

*Butlers - Laugh, Laugh, Laugh - Phila M- £40 (Superb northern soul that has become more and more popular in the last few years)

*Spencer Wiggins - Lonely Man - Goldwax M- £25 (Very soulful mid-tempo 60's dancer. Got plenty of spins a few years ago.)

*Mighty Joe Young - Suffering Soul - Webcor M- £25 (Atmospheric R&B flavoured mid-tempo dancer that has recently seen some attention)

Soul is the Jamaican label, I think Byron Lee was involved in it, his post Kentone stuff came out on Soul. Wasn't the Glenn Miller JA issue on this as well? Is this the blue or the grey/green version of the label?

This is a fantastic record, but just pips the Vicki wotsit version on your other list IMHO. Played them back to back on Monday night. Just for the hell of it.

The label is black with silver print, SOUL is written in a 'cloudy' and very beautiful design across the label with the center hole surrounded by the "O". Byron Lee & The Dragonairs are credited on the label, for playing the instruments I presume. The Jamaican Glen Miller release is on STAG, a beautiful purple label with cool white logo.

Silly me, Stag of course. Been a few on e.bay in the last year or so. I've never had a black copy of the Soul label.

Here is a scan of the label. A beautiful and cool label design IMO. It took a while but I now got my scanner back in working order. I can do scans for anyone interested in any of the records.

Thanks Christian, looks much better than the other colours that the label used.

Had this in red & a green vinyl, & a mate of mine has it in a yellow. Weird. Seems like they were using what ever vinyl they had laying around, unless it was a promotional thing.
