Tomangoes Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 https://uk.reuters.com/article/lifestyleMol...542409420080415 There must have been some great footage on this show over the years. Pity the soul stars dont seem bothered about winning its awards. Has a dvd set come out yet on the whole series? Ed

Paulw Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 (edited) Have a look here Ed, https://www.tv.com/soul-train/show/7494/episode_guide.html Some great performances there. I managed to get all the episodes on DVD's, my cousin in Ohio located them for me, so there are some floating around but don't know how legit they are! Edited September 11, 2008 by PaulW
Soul Shrews Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I've been 'arpin on about the possibility of "Soul Train" DVDs for a good while but when my mate sent me some footage a while back it suddenly came to me......................they"re miming a la TOTPs so would it be such a great thing to have them all ? I much prefer a live performance these days to going out and listening/watching someone play records but dunno if I wanna see miming for hours on end. Cheers Paul

Cheers Paul There has never been any officially released soul train DVDs or VHS due to Don Cornelius and licensing issues. However, I heard he recently sold the rights to the show and there is at least a potential for something coming out now.

Cheers Paul You're right Paul, I hate lipsync too, but some episodes have live footage, and REAL live ! James Brown, Smokey Robinson, Al Green, Sly & Family Stone, etc... Recently I bought 40 DVD's (bootlegs) for $64.99. More than 100 episodes ! Here's the link : SOUL TRAIN DVD'S
