It's f*ckin Chris Rainbow. Levine isn't right all the time. Pip Williams was the arranger or producer.

Its one of those bad disco records you'd expect to hear on a program like The Love Boat or any of the other Aaron Spelling programms around the mid to late 70's.

Saying that I think it's a great dancer, but sadly is quite a good example showing that not everything "Northern" is soul.

John

I take it you haven't read all the thread, as you would know of Pete99s love of the said record

I now feel a tirade of abuse eminating from the Nottingham area

but don't worry he's all "fook off" :wicked:

Yep, I do like it. I think it's a great dancer - and has already been said it sounds great played out on a good system. It's certainly always been a dance floor winner. If you place this particular record at the side of some of the real shite that has been played out it's quality.

Outgoing, incoming blah de blahdy blah!

I remember that, did it go something like 'give me what I cry for, what my heart would surely die for, take me to the ? that I love' - something like that? I haven't heard that for over 30 years!

GIVE ME WHAT I CRY FOR, WHAT I WOULD HAVE GLADLY DIED FOR, TAKE ME TO THE YOUNG YEARS THAT I LOVE.

R, THAT'S THE ONE PETE :wicked: , REMEMBER, JOHNNY WALKER ALWAYS USED TO PLAY IT ON RADIO 1.

These are nothing but myths.

Mickey Moonshine doesn't sound like Chris Rainbow to me.

And I already said on Ian Levine's thread that it isn't very likely to be Pip Williams the arranger.

Does anyone actually have an idea that isn't just a wild guess???

I'm waiting for someone to suggest "Mickey Moonshine" was Sir Cliff Richard or Sir Gary Glitter or Sir Donny Osmond.

Heres Chris Harley aka Chris Rainbows email addy if someone wants to ask him if it was him masquerading as Micky Moonshine.

its chris@vitalsparkmusic.demon.co.uk

He is now living in Skye and you can see what he now does by visiting www.vitalsparkmusic.co.uk hope this solves at least some theories.

cheers Ralph

Hello Ralph,

Do you really think he's going to admit to being Mickey Moonshine???

Would you???

wink.gif

I'm only kidding... it wasn't a bad pop song. Great strings and guitar.

Ralph

Okay, I bet £10 it wasn't him.

But, just to be safe, I'll also bet £10 that it might have been him.

I can't lose!

You know, for the first time in my life I really feel like things are finally starting to go my way.

Gee zuuss you must have had a hard life if Mickey Moonshines real name is the pinnacle of all your expectations unless you have only been looking in the UK reissue sales box.

I know I have. thumbup.gif

A bookmaker could make a few quid here.

Pete Smith could lose a fortune.

Steve G can probably afford to lose a few quid anyway.

Sean Hampsey is probably wondering how much to stake on it being Chris Rainbow. Be careful, Sean!

My money is on "nobody wins".
