Robin S Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Chris Fletcher's mag. Ten issues in total (I think). I've got them all in the loft. A fantastic mag that heavily supported good new 60's at the time. Eg Richard/Sam latest playlists etc...Lots of humour as well - anyone remember Duke? It ran from '78ish - '80 methinks. Personally, a big influence on me at the time, particuarlly for the appreciation of lesser known records.

Well Robin, if that is the case, it means it went on to become a BIG influence on the soul scene as we know it ...................cause you certainly were Best Bully
Robin S Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Gee thanks Bully, that's mightily appreciated... Anyone got Gary Rushbrooke's "Detroit Is Happening" article from one of the late issues to hand? A scan would be good for those who have never seen it - a superb read.
Pete S Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 It was a good magazine but was absolutely shambolic, if they made a mistake typing, they didn't correct it, just crossed it out and carried on typing, so all over the article you'd have these crossing outs and mis-spellings

Guest SoulRenaissance Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Gee thanks Bully, that's mightily appreciated... Anyone got Gary Rushbrooke's "Detroit Is Happening" article from one of the late issues to hand? A scan would be good for those who have never seen it - a superb read. Superb magazine, the blueprint for all the better fanzines that came after. "Detroit is happening" was in issue 6, when he visited Larry Lick. (Didn't think to ask him what else was on the Velgo label)? I've only got up to issue 9, i was still owed some subs.(So if anyone can point me in the right direction)? Never saw an issue 10. Finshed about Autumn 79 as there was an ad in there for DEC. 79. Martyn
