Soulfuljules Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Hello, just got a beautiful mint copy of Betty Turner - Winds Kept Laughing on Crescent. On the "Winds" side there's a stamp stating "Thanks From George Jay" which i've seen is also present on other copies on popsike. Is this stamp present on all copies? What's the story behind it? Apparently there are no credits for George Jay on the record. Thanx, g
Pete S Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 He is the record plugger / promotions man - nothing to actually do with the record, I've had 3 copies of that and none have had that stamp - though obviously I've had records which do have. Other pluggers with stamps and stickers include "Eddie Ojay" and "Chips"

Soulfuljules Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 Congrats on getting such a fantastic record. Thank you! Really pleased about it, thought i'd never had one but managed to source a copy quite cheap, which added a bonus pleasure to the beauty itself
