Harrogatesoul Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 (edited) Apologies if noted before - Just browsing on ebay and saw this: Vibrations Boot Nice 'worn' looking label. Designed to fool the buyer? Dont think much to the description either! I know we bang on about boots etc but it does get my goat up. (Actually thinking about it - it could be just an old worn bootleg.. I didnt know this had been booted actually...) Besides - I think it helps some folk who arent too sure or are new to collecting. By the way - Did this 45 come out on this design or was it only the later orange/blue design? I know the one sold on Manships was grey - Demo was it? Cheers Rich Edited September 1, 2008 by harrogatesoul
Supercorsa Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 The seller has got some front saying "unplayed store stock" with the label in that sort of condition.
Pete S Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 The seller has got some front saying "unplayed store stock" with the label in that sort of condition. He sells mainly reggae and ska reissues which, to be fair, usually are brand new/old store stock
Godzilla Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 These were done a couple of years ago I think, and they all look like that. Nothing to do with the seller.
Harrogatesoul Posted September 1, 2008 Author Posted September 1, 2008 Wasn't implying it was the seller as such - Tho the description could be a tad better. Its the folk who make these boots up that p*** me off. Are there any variations on the original presses? Rich

Rich Well in fairness Rich, he does say 'repress' and makes it clear that there's a different artist on the flip. Know what you mean though - I always wonder how high profile shops like Juno and Tunes.co.uk get away with advertising all this blatant booty stuff. Can't help you on details of the OG though. My specialist subject is worn looking Chess boots with different geezers on each side
Harry Crosby Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Just looked myself, its buy it now at £4.99, don`t think he`s trying to decieve at that price, unlike the DOTTIE CAMBRIDGE-BLUE VINYL SUPER RARE ORIGINAL listed last week even after contacting the seller, they never changed the description, well they hadn`t two days later, also the same thing with a FRANKIE & JOHNNY- HICKORY BOOT, however they did change the description, both sellers were dutch does that mean anything?

So does that mean the Wakefierld Sun - " Triped , sorry - " Tryped On Love " that is on blue vinyl , is NOT a super rare original ? ...... These people who advertise and sell these discs as originals , are blaggards , simply blaggards , and should be horsewhipped - but if they are of dutch origin and reside in the red light district of Amsterdam , horsewhipping may not be a deterent , but a pleasure / way of life ........... Harrogatesoul Posted September 1, 2008 Author Posted September 1, 2008 Thanks Roger for the scans. I've seen a few promos in my time but not an issue. Issue rarer folks? Rich

Guest cardysharpy Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 In real life that vibrations boot doesn't look warn, it looks like glossy photocopy of a deliberately ripped label. You'd have to be blind or particularly daft to think it original. It's also a really bad pressing and you can hear the clicks from the original single it's been booted from.

Malc Burton It's the bootleggers who should be horsewhipped. No exceptions.
