Ed,

Whatever you use will almost certainly have to be solvent based, acetone, meths, even lighter fuel!

However you will need to experiment and 'dab' off the pen marks, with cotton wool balls.

DON'T wipe as you will run the risk of spreading the pen ink across the rest of the label.

Also solvents can have an adverse effect on vinyl, if you make a mistake.

Get a crap pop record and practice on that.

Looking at the scan I don't think it would be that successful anyway.

The felt pen is probably ingrained into the fibre of the paper label.

No matter how much you get out you will always have the 'shadow' remaining.

Cheers

I would agree with this, but one thing you can do that's kind of cool with a glossy Lp cover to remove writing -- you can run a dry erase marker on top of the original marker until you re-wet it, then you get wipe it off. Don't do it to a paper record label though.

Eddie, I remember buying that blind and hating it :excl: thought it was gonna be a dancer.

Anyway, as for the WOL - give up, nothing gets rid of it. The only time I've ever got that kind of pen off a label was a jackie edwards - feel so bad, the writing was on the white parts of the label so I dipped a tiny brush (think it was nail varnish or something) into pure bleach and wiped over it a few times...melted it!
