Soul Venues Majorca

Can anybody tell/help me if there are any soul bars venues etc in Majorca me and my good lady are going to Cala Vinus near Palma Nova/Magaluf next week and are looking for our fix of soul music.

Hi,

We just got back from Majorca last week and the closest we got to any soul was a singer who performed at one of the bars by the name of "Leonard Johnson"" (from New Jersey) who is currently touring the island.

He sang along to various backing tracks (I'll Be Around, All Night Long, etc) he did have quite a good voice and I enjoyed his performance.

To be honest there is not a lot to do on the island beyond drinking,eating and getting sunburnt

Have a great holiday (we did) and I hope you find something soulful on the island!

Last year Mulligans bar (or complex) had a Motown bar with "Northern Soul" written on the window. It's at the top of the strip. Empty when I was there last October and playing mostly handbag stuff.

Lots of live acts around bars in Magaluf (Tops, Tempts, Kool + Gang tributes etc) and a few solo artists. Some are actually quiet good if you remember that you are not paying to see them and don't expect too much. Surprisingly most of the groups are from South Africa. Another good night out, for a change, is Mrs Doyles Irish bar with "Mick the fiddler" who is Irish unlike acts in other "Irish" bars.

Cala Vinas is about 20 min steady walk from Magaluf or 5 min in a taxi.

Hi was in Magaluf earlier in the summer, was told about a 'Northern' bar by some friends who there same time called Popeyes, went in and was usual Wigan Casino c.d's. Then went to see 'Mick the fiddler' was best night of the hols real good atmosphere and laugh

Quite a few bars on the strip say they play Northern, but kids wouldn't let me go in!!!!
