Mace Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 (edited) Mark, just simply click on any link included within the email for logging into paypal and submit all your log in details. At the same time send 'em you full bank account details, all credit card details, info on where you hide your spare house keys when on holiday, and scans of any 'dodgy' sexual photos of you that may prove to be healthy blackmail fodder. Then just sit back and wait for that $1300 to wing it's way into your bank account...happy days P.S. I have recently inherited a vast 6 figure sum of money from a Nigerian relative, but cannot release the funds without paying an international release fee of £200 ...as I don't have a spare £200 at the moment I am willing to send you 90% of this vast 6 figure sum if you can pay the £200 into my bank account to assist me in releasing these funds. I would much prefer you to do this before logging onto paypal as I instructed you previously though..... Edited August 25, 2008 by Mace

Case ID Number: Yours sincerely, PayPal Account Review Department Yes, Normal & Not too much of a problem, However. I decided to Confirm by PayPal phoning me (Automatic) I clicked, had a simple 4 Digit Number displayed on screen to Quote, the phone rang Instantly. I virtually answered within a few seconds, but they had hung up. When I tried again I was told that because I have an answering machine (???? News to me) the Automatic Phone Call had failed. Now told a letter containing another number was to arrive within 2 Weeks., (Phone Option Gone) Waited 2 Weeks and no letter, so I looked at my account and tried again to confirm my account via Phone, this option was available once more. Success this time. A week later the letter arrived which I kept but didn't act on, as job already done.
Northern Soul Uk Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 (edited) Seriously though mate, if It's a 'phishing' mail, which means they are after your Paypal log in details, and from that they also have your bank account details. Just delete anything that looks like that. The best thing to do is to see where the mail has come from (right mouse click/properties) copy the url, and send it to paypal telling them where it came to and from, and let them deal with the unruly blighters. As mentioned above, log into your account only through the paypal website, don't click through an Email. At one point earlier on this year i was recieving 900 emails a day, and out of them, only around 10 were actually ligitimate mail for me, the rest was junk, phishing mail etc. In the end, I just changed my Email address.
