Would You Agree, This Is Northern

Would anyone agree with me that this is Northern. Gregory Washington - Tea And Understanding - BRAINSTORM 169. Also, cant help thinking I heard Rob Smith play this at Brid weekend 2007. Am I right? (refo sound byte below)

I bought this record off Ady Pountain for £3 some 20 odd years ago, I liked the sound of it then, still do, wouldn't have ever dreamed of playing it out though.

the flip is written by stormy, who also wrote saxie russell psychedelic soul. gregory washington was a guitarist that played on many chicago records and his sister cynthia washington was lead singer of silk. so at least it's connected to northern soul...

Some nice horns especially halfway through when it gets going a bit. If I stuck on a Northern Soul CD I'd probably put it on as the last track (being a bit sluggish).

I'd buy it if it was cheap enough cos I like the horn work.

It isn't an expensive or rare record, it was the horn work that got me, mind you I've always quite liked odd-ball instrumentals.

Yo're right Matt - decent funk instrumental - but equally terrible recording or pressing as I recall.

Anyway, I thought we were supposed to flip old fogotten Northern sounds to uncover funk gems - not the other way round

Know what you mean about having a thing for odd-ball instro's, so many were pushed onto the Northern scene LPs when I was just getting into it:- Grapevine's, Destiny, Jumping at the go-go, Capital Soul Casino.
