Pete S Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 And in deference with your wishes, I have removed the wording, even though I personally disagree, and feel it should be seen to remind us that bigots still exist. But it's your call. I went to see if the comment was still on Youtube so that I could reply to it but it had gone.
Guest Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 I went to see if the comment was still on Youtube so that I could reply to it but it had gone. All my YouTube comments need prior approval, so I deleted it before anyone even saw it. I would never leave that there for people to publicly see, although I felt I could show it on here if I commented on it prior to showing it, but as Mike disagreed with me, it's now gone altogether.

Guest Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Amazon have shipped my order for Northern Soul's 200 Greatest today, may even see it on Monday! I hope you do, and if you do, would you be kind enough to review it for us on here please ??
Dave Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Yes Simon, and somehow, as closed minded and blinkered as you are, you've earned the right to speak for all Northern Soul fans everywhere as our great and illustrious leader.................. Not sure about "everywhere", but what he says has a ring of truth for me. Get off yer Yak, And drink yer milk, Pardner. (apologies to John Wayne fans.) Four days away from the actual release, and "Northern Soul's 200 Greatest Floorfillers" is still cheaper on Amazon than anywhere else in the world, and is number THREE in their chart, even though it's not out yet. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Northern-Souls-Gre...2972&sr=8-1 Surely this thread should be in "sales"? I don't think you'd enjoy it, Simon, as all the music for it was recorded after 1974 and it all sounds the same. Fair comment. You'd like Simon if you met him Ian, if you haven't already. I didn't like him referring to my beautiful and treasured and artistic "Northern Soul 2008" album as "dumbing down" of the Northern Soul Scene. On facebook? That may have been me. I think you ought to get used to it. Well you don't like me referring to the Carstairs as a load of rubbish but we don't fall out over it
Dave Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Does your Mommy know you come on here? Mommy? Are you pretending you're American?
Pete S Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Mommy? Are you pretending you're American? No, we mostly say Mom round here and not Mum
Dave Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 No, we mostly say Mom round here and not Mum Surely "Mom" is interchangeable with "Sis" "round there"? Oops... nearly forgot the
Guest Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 On facebook? That may have been me. I think you ought to get used to it. Don't think I'm too in love with you.
Ady Potts Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 (edited) There will indeed, but you have to pay for it. The entrance is free, the music and acts are free, but the club charges for drinks and food. But it is the most fabulous venue, the best I have ever done anything in, and that's why I was so keen to secure it. Sounds nice Ian So just going back to the food for a second, can you just give us a bit more of a clue to what's on offer? please. Will it be just little snacks? Again, do hope you don't mind me asking, it's just that dashing into London after working out in the fields all day, well, you know how it is. Also, drinks wise, will they have any Old Rosie? please. Guest Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Surely this thread should be in "sales"? The title of this thread is "Ian Levine, Motorcity, Centre City, Blackpool Mecca, And Swons", so YOU get used to it, my pretty sweet little sunflower.
Guest Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Sounds nice Ian So just going back to the food for a second, can you just give us a bit more of a clue to what's on offer? please. Will it be just little snacks? or something a bit more filling, obviously not like stew & dumplings, although that would be very nice, perhaps more along the lines of a spaghetti dish? Again, do hope you don't mind me asking, it's just that dashing into London after working out in the fields all day, well, you know how it is. Also, drinks wise, will they have any Old Rosie? please. We all thought the food was great last time. I had the chicken myself and it was delicious. They serve plenty of food there.
Guest Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 as all the music for it was recorded after 1974 and it all sounds the same. And after that stupid, inane, and pitiful statement, you've earned the title of troll of the week, and I'm blocking you. Go and be a nuisance somewhere else, and get out of my face.
Dave Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Don't think I'm too in love with you. Oh, you disappoint me! The title of this thread is "Ian Levine, Motorcity, Centre City, Blackpool Mecca, And Swons", so YOU get used to it, my pretty sweet little sunflower. Yes sweetpea, I know what the title is. That's not really the point I was making. The thing is old fruit, you are using this thread, and indeed this site, as a vehicle of self promotion. Not an umcommon pradtice, I know, but you really take the piss! (metaphorically speaking, of course) And after that stupid, inane, and pitiful statement, you've earned the title of troll of the week, and I'm blocking you. Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Simply no more than it deserves : a fitting acolade to your hard work - Well done Ian ............ Malc Burton Just looked again and it's still number one. It's exciting after so much work. I'm aching to hear people's thoughts if they're constructive. If they're not constructive, though, I have no wish to be subjected to them. A double edged sword.

If they're not constructive, though, I have no wish to be subjected to them. A double edged sword. That's not a proper review then is it if there can't be any constructive criticism. I'd have loved to review it but not with reporting restrictions put on me. If you're so confident in the project then what are you frightened of. I wouldn't do a hatchet job on it, just say what I liked and possibly disliked.
Pete S Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 I don't even know what Old Rosie is. I just hope you're not referring to Rosetta Hightower. It's tea isn't it?
Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 It's tea isn't it? It will be a reference to / for tea ( cockernee rhyming slang - Rosie Lee = Tea ) ........ Malc Burton
Ritchieandrew Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 (edited) So will there be any Old Rosie Ian, or not ? Old Rosie - Scrumpy type cider - brewed by Westons. Strong enough to kill a normal person if drunk to excess, especially in the Draught version. Regards Ritchie. Edited October 26, 2008 by RitchieAndrew

I didn't mean it all had to be glowing. I just meant that if the likes of James Trouble, or that Dave who posted recently, were to review it, I don't think the review would be a fair one. I welcome one from you.

Guest Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 can we sack the offtopic chat freebasing or club best place for such WHAT ????????????????? There hasn't been any off topic chat. This thread is all about my work and my productions and it has stayed on topic lately. Plus I reported a post from some dickhead for being homophobic, and bigoted, and pigheaded, saying, and I quote.. "with a shrug and a flounce and a swirl of chiffon", and whereas in the past you have told me to always report such crap to a Moderator, this time you tell me to deal with it myself. Are you feeling alright tonight, Mike, or are you just having a bad day ???? is there anything I can do ?????
Mike Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 not on you send me a pm and after taking time to reply find that you posted the exact same in forum wasting both mine and your own time as said many times before if want to talk about moderating then do it in the feedback forum before you start shouting off at the moderation suggest you go and read the actual thread last day or so has seen a lot of off topic posts in this thread , to read anyone claiming that they such posts are all "ontopic" is laughable and to be blunt coming close to insulting you want to wise up before carry on playing that game as for you reported post , as said in the pm that phrase has been used a lot in the past on here if you do find it offensive then tell the member posting it if does carry on using after being made aware of your thoughts then would look at the whole situation then if wish to discus moderation further then do it in feedback same as any other member
