Kjw Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Was thinking about some of the sounds that have had a second lease of life - Flame N King, Flaming Emeralds, Bits N Pieces and most significantly The Brothers - Are You Ready For This. The Brothers was never what you would call a huge record in the 70's - it had it's fair share of play but no more than anything else yet second time around it was massive everywhere. There must be other records like this waiting for someone to resurrect them. Some of the ones I remember from Cleethorpes in the mid 70's are - Kim Tolliver - I Don't Know What Foot To Dance On Prince George - Wrong Crowd Third Time Around - Soon Everything's Gonna Be Alright Black Nasty - Cut Your Motor Off - sounds just right for today Anyone got any others that they think deserve another chance

Tomangoes Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 Cleethorpes Cleethorpes Cleethorpes: Mack Simmons - Turning Point. After selling most of my record collection, could not bring myself to sell this, and yet to most maybe its had its day. Bigger than the Brothers at the time, KayJee - The Nightlighters, and also Silvetti - Spring Rain. Im sure over the next 10 years old the forgotten oldies will get a second life. Ed

Guest Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 (edited) Not heard Turning Point played for years, would love to hear it played again. I was going through some stuff t'other day , and came across " I Got What You Need " - Oscar Perry ...... It was refreshing to hear how good it still sounds - reet gradely as they say - and possibly ready for playing again ........ Apologies if you hip cats are playing this at your happenings , but I have not heard it when I am out and about ..... Malc Burton Edited August 18, 2008 by Malc Burton

Some great records on your list, but i don,t think Danny Reed has stood the test of time, also played Lilly Fields "Love has so many meanings" is another that time hasn,t been kind with. What about Eddie Horan "The ups and downs of a love affair" or Marc Coppice "Who can i turn to"
