Guest Roddy Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Hi all , Whats the going rate for clifford curry aint no danger
Benji Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Hi all , Whats the going rate for clifford curry aint no danger I'd say 30+ as demand is growing? No much difference in value between UK Pama and US Elf? BTW, as the UK Pama pressing has a rather prominent bass line, is the US Elf pressing the same or is it "softer"? Used to play it on UK Pama, had to turn down bass every time as people were thinking they're at a Northern Soul Rave
Harry Crosby Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 The other side was the played side years ago, my mate said play the flip, imagine my suprise great record, never play the other side now

Used to play it on UK Pama, had to turn down bass every time as people were thinking they're at a Northern Soul Rave Did a quick search around to see if I was correct with my valuation. An Elf W/D sold for 50 earlier this year, a UK Pama issue was offered @80 but no sign if it sold or not. A VG+ NOC UK Pama copy was listed @ 10. So I think 30-40 for an Elf copy and 40-50 for a Pama copy should be about right.
Our Kid Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 I think you might find an Elf issue the most elusive of all variants. Paul
Mike E Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 (edited) The other side was the played side years ago, my mate said play the flip, imagine my suprise great record, never play the other side now Just dug it out (PAMA) and put the flip on. Ian Dewhirst Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 The other side was the played side years ago, my mate said play the flip, imagine my suprise great record, never play the other side now Wow. Just played the flip of my beaten up Pama copy of "Can't Get A Hold Of Myself" and it's a stormer isn't it? Best bassline since "Sister Lee" LOL and I see what Roddy means about the Pama pressing being loud but I think that's an advantage. Going for £30 by the way if anyone wants one....... Ian D

Mike E Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 KARL WOULD`NT OF PLAYED THE "A" SIDE AT BURNLEY....AIN`T NO DANGER....IS WHAT GETS THE DANCE FLOOR ROCKIN`... Thanks for that. See that Steve C got it on his selection CD(Soul or Nothing). Must say I been missing something, as it was buried away in my collection. Picked up a copy off Des Parker sometime ago for price of a bag of chips. Now can't stop playing either side.
Guest Netspeaky Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 I use to spin "Ain't No Danger" at Colwyn Bay nighters back in the 70's always thought it had more of a nighter feel than "Get A Hold Of Myself" which was played at the Casino. Got a green ELF issue in my very first soul pack (5 for 50p) from Record Corner in about 71 and then acquired a Pama issue a couple of years later, which I still have. Nice to hear that it's getting spins again.

First record i ever had aged about 5 from my dads collection and still in my play box today... Quality indeed.. The price is gonna stay steady i guess as the other side was a big hit and charted i think... The kind of fantastic overlooked record because it was always so cheap(not rare) i guess..
