Guest Trevski Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 (edited) Just replaced my almost worn out stock copy with a mint W/D of my favorite Motown record "Forget about me" by Carolyn Crawford. What I didn't realise, flicking thru her bio, was that when Motown signed her in '63, the year she recorded FAM, she was only 13 years old! 13! what an amazing, rich, mature voice for such a young girl, and she wrote it too! Such a shame she didn't make it big. PS, Unusualy, it is a west coast Monarch styrene press, ∆49880 Sept '63. Not seen one before. Edited August 11, 2008 by Trevski
Guest Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Saw her in Brum a few years ago still looking and sounding fantastic. She was telling me she only sings in the church nowadays. Be great if some promoter could talk her into coming back over here(hint hint Mr Randle !) Regards Ian

Also one of my faves....along with "I'll come running" which came out I think in 64...she would have only been 14....same age as myself. Phyllis
Guest mel brat Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 (edited) Saw her in Brum a few years ago still looking and sounding fantastic. Regards Ian Yes, she was superb at the Q Club in Brum - along with Bobby Taylor (thanks to Bill Randle!) I had a nice long chat with her later and she's an incredibly attractive and vivacious lady for sure! I bought "Forget About Me" C.1974 from Steve Glover when it was just a "Motown curio" and still love it. It was great to see it get long overdue recognition on the wider scene. (I particularly love her 3 PIR 45s also) Edited August 11, 2008 by mel brat
