Guest sean daniels Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 £3.00 £3.00 Seriously? I mean seriously????
soulAdequateNP Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 £3.00 Seriously? I mean seriously???? Probably about right - remember it was quite a big seller at the time as "Lover Turn Me On (I Just Gotta Have You)" was massive in mainstream discoland
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 £3.00 Seriously? I mean seriously???? Possibly even less - ever tried selling these sort of albums? Nobody wants to know. Which is a shame because those who don't are missing out on some good stuff at times.
Girthdevon Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Actually for a good long while orig US copies of this was a piece of piss to sell, the European boogie collectors would snap em all up for £10-£15. Now tough to sell unless you have a US copy Mint or sealed. Plenty of nice copies on Gemm for £3ish, like you say.......problem is most who would want this now already have a copy......his best LP too !! Girf
Mark R Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 People are probably bored with me saying this, but "Rumors" was probably the single biggest tune that turned me towards contemporary soul when I was into the NS scene. When I bought the album and heard the rest of it, it just got better!! Fantastic memories............and to prove that hostilities between NS and MS scenes could be overcome, check out Adam playing the on the Leicester 2nd Anniversay video...............a chocablock dancefloor in the main hall!! Maybe those times are returning with the Michael Proctor/UBP tunes being spun in the Northern rooms now???? I'm sure some don't appreciate that, but I just want to hear good music, so it's fine by me. Check out Kashif's stuff........top man! Cheers, Mark R
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Meant to mention earlier that "Say Something Love" from the "Kashif" album is one of my favourite records of the past 25 years or so, and has been since the day that I first heard it...
Simon M Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 (edited) Hey Mark Ive seen that DVD . The crowd changed their dance style to Kashif and stayed on the floor ,but most seem to have only one style these days! Edited August 10, 2008 by Simon M
