ANYONE REMEMBER THAT NEWSPAPER ARTICLE AND I THINK IT WAS ON NORTH-WEST TONIGHT ASWELL ( I'M TALKING MANY MOONS AGO HERE !!!) ABOUT A COUPLE WHO BOUGHT PART OF THE MAIN DANCE FLOOR FROM WIGAN CASINO AND HAD IT FITTED IN THEIR KITCHEN SO THAT EVRYTIME THEY GO FOR A CUPPA THEY CAN HAVE A QUICK SPIN AND A BACKDROP WHILE WAITING FOR THE KETTLE TO BOIL ( JUST KIDDING) ......IT CROPPED UP IN CONVERSATION TOTHER NIGHT...SO ANYONE KNOW WHO THEY ARE OR HAVE YOU GOT A COPY OF THE ARTICLE ???

The Lad that put the floor down in is kitchen moved to Australia a few years after it was installed if my memory is what it should be he was a hairdresser in Wigan he and is good lady where at the casino every week for years but not that much in the last two or three up to 81 the name Nevin lived in Hindley Nr Wigan sticks in my mind but could be something completely different i have this info will look it up when i sober up in the morning!

Andrew & Fiona Nevin bought the floor for 80 quid, Andrew was a hairdresser just round the corner from the Casino, they both live here in Australia on the central coast of New South Wales, both are still very active on the scene, regularly attending both local & national events, Andrew has some of the floor here, the remainder was used on the kitchen & the rest is in storage.

Fiona recently did an exibition at the local university with Northern Soul being the theme, she also displayed her artwork at last years Sydney weekender.

Here is a picture of them both at our weekender here on the Gold Coast in January.

this is not much help but theres a bit about the sign an interview on a dvd that was knocking about..

I always do this to him Pete S, is the man.. always comes up with info of stuff thats been on telly.. all the stuff he used to put on you tube for example.. PM him..

got lots of stories as well but am keeping them to me self . me and some other wiganers used to have a pass to get in free by brushing the floor befor the nighter i used to hump crate's of pop around from one barr to another

I've got a piece of the floor here, if I can find the lead for me phone/pc, I'll post a pic.

I'll post a pic of the makers name on the b-side of the slat (a woodmakers ZTT number) which should prove it for the p takers.
