Guest evissa Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Steady on young man , Ive never worn polyester trousers My memory may be failing me ...but didn't mods in the 60s wear Hush Puppies and nylon macs ... and I think those awful scholl sandals had a moment of glory on the mod scene too?
Guest Fatius Bumius Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 On a more serious note ...I took my lad to Clarks outlet shop in Arnold, Nottingham yesterday to get his going back to school shoes before the mad rush. The Re-ish-shoe polyveldts were on the special offer shelves in the mens section. £29.99 a pair, but if you bought one pair you got the 2nd pair for a £1. Saw sizes 7 and above in brown, black and a reddy brown colour. They'd also got a style very similar, the soles didn't have the tree bark effect and were a bit lower and they were on special offer down from £70 to £29.99, buy one get one for a whole quid. If I was going to buy them, I'd buy two pairs, one for myself, and then put the others on EBay which would make my shoes nearly free Or stock up while they've got them

Prophonics 2029 Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 (edited) I had a pair of brown Polyveldts at school and straight pants felt a right tool until I got my Docs 8 hole with Oxford bags, Loafers for Wigan and when they wore out I went back to the Polys. There was a tan coloured boot as well but the Cornish Pastie style was a girls shoe. Edited August 1, 2008 by Prophonics 2029
