Has any one out there had problems with people revesing payments via Paypal and taking the payment twice. This has happened to me with one source taking regular amounts out of my bank account. There must be a loop hole in the system as the payments did not resemble anything I paid out.

After many e-mails to my now un-best friends at Paypal they tell me to be careful with whom I deal. How does that make Paypal safe as they say it is.

Those responsible for taking the payments are using an unreconisible reference. It's woth checking your accounts as my bank said they had a number of people contacting them.

Yes, the reason I found out was I always use my credit card first. It's my joint bank account that was registered and from which payments were being taken. The double whammy for me is that my wife now wants to help me sort it out by looking at my Paypal activity over the last year.

This is not good!

Hi Pat

Paypal

Never link your bank account

when buying always pay by credit card. dont use debit or your balance (draw this off first unless paying someone you trust)

Then paypal are knackered as they have to refund any dodgy or unsatisfied transactions from a credit card.

when returning goods always get a recorded delivery and if not possible a certificate of posting.

paypal disputes open immediately (even if being sorted) as they expire after 30 days sad.gif

and persuade your credit card company to start a dispute clawback right away if it looks like fraud or a con. (be warned they will tell you to wait 30 days) funny that. this is two separate means of attack. the latter always wins but get the dispute going inside the 30 days.

if the seller blanks you (dont return the goods, its not authorised). you get to keep the goods and get a refund!

Hope this helps

Hi There Pete

Thanks for the advice. That's me finished with Paypal. Just hope when I buy from Soul Source sales that people will accept a cheque.

Pat

f*** paypal

challenge every transaction with your bank

believe it or not its their responsibility

tell them you dont recognise the transactions and they are unauthorised

email them off your account online

they cant dodge things in writing

always use credit cards where possible in future (you are protected)

I got a clawback of nearly £800 from Joe Salamone the fraudster and made Paypal change there rules to protect me in the future

oh and buy the wife flowers
