Hi there Ian & Alan!

Top tunes all the way, and I was particularly pleased to hear the following tunes:

Truce - Let Me Take You There

M.L.S. - Extra Careful

Rock Candy - I Got Love

The Four Tops - Ain't No Woman (Like The One I Got)

Marva Hicks - Looking Over My Shoulder

The Rance Allen Group - Reason To Survive

Charles Veal - If You Ever Needed Someone

BTW, Charles Veal can sing, but often makes use of guest singers, Mr. Veal´s prime skill is playing the violin and he has arranged the strings on several albums by well known jazz/soul/gospel artists such as Creative Source, Webster Lewis, George Duke...

Wow, what a week. It turns out that this will probably be the last live studio show Al and I will be doing for a while, as Al's moving over to Saturdays to co-host "The Football Show" with Tony Mathews - you can catch the guys every Saturday afternoon 3.00-6.00pm where they'll be delivering a scorching show packed with all the latest score updates, more irreverent chatter and, of course, the usual Starpoint diet of great music.

However, the Original Mastercuts show will continue in the usual crowd-pleasing format as it's become something of a Sunday Afternoon institution these days. Also I really enjoy the show and especially the constant buzz of putting together a fresh 2 hour show, week in, week out, rain or shine. With over 200 hours of Original Mastercuts shows over the last 2 years, it's a legacy that I'm keen to continue for the foreseeable future!

Also, Al and I will be presenting part of the live broadcast for The Starpoint Carnival Party @ The Ramshackle in Fulham on Monday 25th August 2.00-11.00 so make sure you join us and the rest of the Starpoint posse on Carnival Day! It's Free, it'll be Fun and there's gonna be Food, so come join us.

Best of luck to Al and Tony!

At last the Original Mastercuts show will forgo the usual monologue abut Chelsea FC from this point forward LOL!

Anyway, luckily it was a good show with no hiccups!

Hi there!

It´s a pity Alan will be leaving the show, but I wish him (you, if you´re reading this Alan) the best of luck with the new show and the new concept.

Ian, you and Alan were such a perfect match, you seem to get along so well, but without a doubt I will continue to tune in each and every week to hear you spin those quality Original Mastercuts grooves!

You seem to have a thing for Fonzi Thornton and Grady Harrell, not the first time those gentlemen are featured on the show. No problems though, love those tracks!

Nice to hear Alex O´Neal again. He was discussed in a recent thread somewhere as regards his "wife swapping"...LOL?!

Bessie Banks - Don't You Worry Baby (The Best Is Yet To Come)

Now that´s a classic!

Sure is Mel!

Al's into his football big time, so it was really a natural move for him plus I could never stop him talking about Chelsea all the time so he's now in the perfect show LOL....

I've always tended to hog the show musically anyway which gives me the excuse to play the Grady Harrell, J.P. Rogers Jr and Ullanda McCullough etc, etc records a few times to break 'em in to a wider audience. That's the theory anyway.........

Anyway I guess I'l have to start shopping around for a new sidekick on Sundays and certainly have a few guests dropping by.......

Cheers Mel.
