I had to retract a bid from this guy recently for a W/D of Freddie Houston "If I had known."

The price was looking good and I jumped in with the beer goggles on. In the sober light of day the "not original" part of the description became visible to me!

Seen a few since on his auctions that I never knew had been booted either.

It says repro, copy, fictitious ('fictif'), not original - so I'm guessing it's a boot! The bit after that is something to do with speeding up and slowing down the recording, not quite sure what that's about huh.gif

I get a lot of this fella, a nice guy but some get cut up best to check your not getting a boot  and you always get a sound clip to see what it sounds like thumbup.gif hummm nice popcorn  .

DJs slow down 45´s on the belgian popcorn scene, maybe the boots are recorded that way?!

I asked the seller about those "repros", as I knew the belgian scene had booted some tunes back in the 70s but never knew about boots of Freddie Houston, Marva Josie or Douglas Banks. All "repros" are simply carver jobs with laser printed labels glued on.

Be very careful with this seller. nearly everything he sells are boots. He now lists most as repos but not always. Quite a few people have been caught out in the past you just have to look at what some of his repros have sold for £100's
