Dave Rimmer Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Cant even find it in completed items anyone got any idea where it went to just wanted to see the price.. strange it vanished just in the blink of an eye been watching it all week gasher Yeah I noticed that. I had it watched in 'My Ebay' and it's gone from there as well, no trace at all. Last price I saw was with 2 hours to go and it was £1470
Pete S Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Did you notice though - originally the seller had no idea what it was worth, then later he'd added a bit on saying he'd found out it was mega rare and wouldn't accept paypal
Quinvy Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I've seen this happen many times on ebay....last one that I saw I contacted the seller. Who said someone made him an offer he couldn't refuse. Maybe got a horses head in his bed. Phil.

I think ebay must have cancelled the listing because of the seller's comment about not accepting paypal.

Pete S Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 are they allowed to do that ? Yes, but not if there are less than 12 hours left, so not surehow he managed it
Guest franky m Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Did you notice though - originally the seller had no idea what it was worth, then later he'd added a bit on saying he'd found out it was mega rare and wouldn't accept paypal I think this could be a scam , i have had my fingers burnt in a similar situation , the seller lists a fantastic item , gets lots of people interested and bidding , then pulls it at the last minute , you send a personal message and do a deal with the seller off ebay , and end up not receiving the goods or not as descibed and have no way to complain , and the no paypal is well suss , who is the seller ?
Prophonics 2029 Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 (edited) I won a Moments on Deep, and the guy said my mate has it and wants more money, so I offered $600 and he said you speak to the guy. I phoned him up and it was weird he played me the M- copy and it sounded great. I could picture him sat in a red hot flat in a string vest with a cigar in his mouth, Yah Hokay U sen da mo-nee in da post wid da cash and yo get da record hokay. I never sent the money in the end. Kidinquisitive Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 It would have been ebay that wiped the auction. If the seller ended it there would still be a record of it, it would just say the item was ended early because it's no longer for sale. The only way it can be wiped clean like that is if ebay does an administrative cancellation. Most likely because of a technicality like the seller saying he won't take paypal. Or a hijacked account could have started bidding on the item and ebay catches on to that in time and cancels it.
