Guest
Steve I think you can TXT to bid now ? Im not sure who won that but I had a go and failed again Simon, What a great idea, we'll set up a TEXT facilty for bids, today. You can now text bids to: 077425 86085 We'll need bidders real name, post code & BID. But it is proxy bidding the winner only pays the MINIMUM increment over his nearest rival, so why don't you busy bidders just leave a bid and forget it? Yes Uncle Sam forgot, Steve was busy and the BEDS MAN cleaned up yet again... He's not gonna let you forget that Steve.. Link to comment Social source share

John Al
Blimey - whats this all about? Yes indeed Pete! And what were the records? I haven't bought much from JM's auction but if it was me that paid out after illegal bids I think I'd be looking for some money back - at the very least. On the other hand, if this is just nonsense then the record needs to be set straight. Link to comment Social source share
Reforee
Bidding up happens all the time, ever since auctions started, from construction machines, cars and sadly even records. It only takes 2 to bid up togo way over the price, depends on how much YOU want to pay for it. HOWEVER if someone is bidding on their own item, then thats a bit to sour in my mouth and if i were to find out someone had done that to me just to get a higher price for their item then they would certainly make an enemy out of ME???? watch your back!!!!!!!!! I make a note of ebay bidders on items and funny enough have had second chance offers for items, which I very seldom take. With JMs I never bother making a note really as never felt the need to The Man In Black Link to comment Social source share

Nobody paid out for anything, we withdrew the 45s the owners themselves, were bidding on, and replaced the write-up "with withdrew due to suspicious bidding". From memory we have only had to do this twice in all the years we have ran the auction. 99.9% of owners are 100% honest. We regularly check bids on offer just in case; We will ban and block the auction access anyone "shill" bidding or not paying for auction items won, but this is, thankfully rare. John I sold a couple of things through John and on both occasions his approach has been very professional, even communicating during the bid period to make sure I was happy, as we had no reserve. Like someone else has said, it happens every where, but from what I have seen, John works hard to provide a good and fair service. Dave Link to comment Social source share
