Wiganer1 Posted July 5, 2008 Author Posted July 5, 2008 (edited) Musically Mark and I are polls apart, I always think he plays more Northern and I play more soul records...if you know what i mean!? In saying that, time and time again Mark posts playlists that are completely different to the top 100 tunes many people post on here. You have to give the guy credit for playing something different, weather you like it or not. The tunes i do know i dont like to be honest but at least its something different. Good luck to you mate. Chris ==== im defo more Northern Soul than soul - its has to be said! u wouldnt want me any other way wud ya! lol Edited July 6, 2008 by wiganer1

Wiganer1 Posted July 6, 2008 Author Posted July 6, 2008 OK Lord Charles... you are'nt working as a double act. So be more specific. Why do you feel the need to answer on behalf of "the best oldies DJ in the land"? Not a plug, surely? And BTW, have you got something in your eye, or is a twitch? ==== 'best oldie in the land ' is just a gimmick Dave - point being you dont have to play the same old same old even on the oldies circuit! theres load of great stuff owt there (good and bad) draw your own conclusion where this fall into lol enjoy your soul dave - whatever youre into!

Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 (edited) And any record by an ex-member of The Honeycombs is alright with me! Oh hang on. I'll get me coat. In the late Dennis D'ell's defence he was one of many beat group members who actually harboured desires to be a soul man. He left the Honeycombs because he couldn't stand all the pop crap that the late Joe Meek kept making them record. As Pete says, it's a good version, too. Re: Mark's list, good to see that old Mecca play "LaSo Square" in there. Anyone got a copy of its 1972 prototype, Joe Bataan's "Latin Soul Square Dance" (Fania) that they'd like to sell me? Edited July 7, 2008 by TONY ROUNCE
Wiganer1 Posted July 7, 2008 Author Posted July 7, 2008 Thank for answering me question even if i had to do it myself, yes it is the one Guy used to play, and if you was having Wiganer show case whats wrong with media like everyone else.ta Ken ========== already said i put it in the wrong forum! u shud know im a derd brain by now! see u saturday at middleton?
Tomangoes Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 If these are oldies, im well out of it. Theres only that 'marrying' number I recognise from the title, maybe a few more if I could hear them. Im gonna shoot my 'best shot'------------------ Is this the same Lee Mitchell on Full Speed Ahead as in the list on Roll? Lets be realistic, there are 000s of underplayed / neverplayed average to good tunes that could get an airing and it nice to see one or two getting a spin. The danger is the floor will empty and you will go back to the top 100, so mix and match, and just remember you will never have a record that you have the only copy. There are too many serious collectors on the scene for that to be the case. Ed

"I Couldn't Last A Day Without Your Love" by the Dreamlovers is great, opps sorry Custers Last Band. Another record that the C/U name is better than the real one! Edited July 7, 2008 by Guest
