I've been digging through some of my old record boxes and I've come across a record by Joanne Touchstone - Walk Softly - on the Sound Stage 7 label and I can honestly say that in 33 years listening to Soul music, this is the worst record I have ever heard! To my astonishment, looking through previous forum-topics o this website, I have noticed that it has been played at some top venues... the only thing I can think of is that she must have been married to the Sound Stage 7 label owner at the time! :D

I notice that when its played out, most DJ's pitch it up to +2. Rodger Banks first to play it as I can remember, always +2'd it!

I will say the music sounds good, shame she didnt get run over the day before it was recorded

I love it, great little song. I think i played it at soul or nothing. Can't understand why anyone would pitch it up, it's a shame mid tempo stuff isn't accepted for what it is. Better than plenty of other stuff touted on here as the next big thing.

They could pitch it up even more, but it wouldn't make the slightest bit of difference. HER VOICE IS CRAP.

Fatius Bumius is a big fan of this,i prefer "you caught me off guard" still a good record mind

Adey Pierce had one for sale a few Years ago on the net and she bought it, giving him a potted history of her life etc. As we said at the time, it was a shame that he wasn't contacted by someone who could F***ing SING!!

Des Parker

P.S. If you think "Walk Softly" is bad you should hear her other release on the label!!!!
