Corbett80 Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 (edited) I've always thought this was tougher than the other one on the label?...does anyone know what a nice copy would go for at the moment? Cheers! JM Edited July 3, 2008 by mulf

Chalky Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 So both worth the same then.....great record never hear it out at all? An oldie? it has had spins now and then over the years
Guest Johnny Mack Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Always liked this record (both sides) and if pushed would choose the other side as the stand out side - not northern, but great soulful harmonies - a great cover version of the Teen Queens "Eddie My Love" - wonderful record. Would have thought 75 pounds was nearer a realistic value and definately harder than their other Kent release. Best John I've always thought this was tougher than the other one on the label?...does anyone know what a nice copy would go for at the moment? Cheers! JM
Stubbsy Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Great record Should be played out more. Paid £60 for mine but that must be 5+ years ago. Would have thought £75 but seen it listed @ £100 couple of times lately. Think Martin T had one for sale on the sales section. Will have a look now see if it's still there !

Best John I like "eddie my love" a lot, I never knew it was a cover, I appreciate you giving that info. There is another version by pat carroll on domain.

Yep still there see link below https://www.soul-source.co.uk/Records-Sale-t74999.html He wants £100 for it. No takers yet? Perhaps you could make him an offer JM, but trust me he drives a hard bargain
Guest Johnny Mack Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Bob I know you'll appreciate this link with some history on both the Teen Queens and the song "Eddie My Love" which was in fact written as a Johnny Ace tribute "Johnny my love" and latterly changed and recorded as "Eddie My Love" www.colorradio.com/teen_queens.htm Best John I like "eddie my love" a lot, I never knew it was a cover, I appreciate you giving that info. I don't know much about 50s music so this is news to me. I'm usually sort of annoyed when people talk about obscure covers as the original version without knowing the original, I guess I was a victim of that in this case! Thanks.
