Guest Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 (edited) EVERYTHING BELOW NOW HALF-PRICE Hi again everybody out there in waxland, Usual drill - PM me or email me directly on mail@resolutionrecords.co.uk if interested in anything here - any questions/queries welcome too. Postage is extra - I'm happy to ship anywhere globally - cash/chq preferred but I can now accept paypal if people are willing to pay the extra paypal % as I cannot afford to cover it - especially on the more expensive stuff. Everything strictly graded - M- means very likely unplayed. If there's something else listed here that you need to get a soundfile for (b side, other LP track etc) just get in touch and I'll sort it for you - ok? !!All soundclips taken from advertised records!! If ya think I'm way too high on anything, don't be afraid to make me a sensible offer - I'm a reasonable man....I hope! Just over 30 items in total - mixture of R&B, Northern and Modern - mainly cheapies, as usual... ***EVERY ITEM HAS A SOUNDCLIP WHICH FOLLOW IN THE NEXT FEW POSTS - IN THE ORDER I'VE LISTED THEM HERE - JUST SCROLL DOWN*** EVERYTHING BELOW NOW HALF-PRICE!! Soul / R&B 7" Singles (45 and 33 rpm): 5) CALVIN LEAVY (Blue Fox) (M-) *£4* "BROUGHT YOU TO THE CITY" / "CUMMINS PRISON FARM" (1960s -USA) ( REDUCED FROM £10!! Moody, downtempo Organ-ish plaintive side with extremely thought-provoking lyrics...as seen @ £40 on one of the UK's biggest Lists only a few weeks ago...grabbit - it's brilliant... ) 6) THE LOST GENERATION (Brunswick) (Ex+) *£4* "THE SLY, THE SLICK & THE WICKED" (1972 - USA) ( REDUCED FROM £10!! Difficult to describe just how good this track is - I recently heard it on a mix CD (from NYC) and it sounded AMAZING...incredibly 'vibrant' downtemposoul...not to be missed...70s Soul at it's absolute best IMHO... ) 7) MICHAEL WASHINGTON (Capcity) (M-) *£5* "STAY MINE" (1960s - USA) ( REDUCED FROM £10!! Very decent Northern - looks unplayed.... ) 8) JEANNIE REYNOLDS (Casablanca) (M-) *£8* "UNWANTED COMPANY" (1975 - USA) ( REDUCED FROM £12!! Lovely copy of this excellent Northern Soul double-sider - almost flawless... ) 24) MISS JOHNNIE (Zells) (Ex+) *HELD* "LET SLEEPING DOGS LIE" (1960s - USA) ( REDUCED FROM £8!! Strong midtempo Modern Soul from 1986 - great vocals from this lady who also did some (rare) on Budweiser too - another old Rock City spin from back in the early days of the Modern Soul scenes - was played as a new release......... ) 30) KEITH SWEAT (Stadium) (M-) *£5* "MY MIND IS MADE UP" (1985 - USA) ( REDUCED FROM £10!! Check the soundclip below - stunning - I'm told 'Fascinating Devestating Man' and 'I'm Gonna Get You' are also great but I rarely get beyond 'How Can I Love you' )" Intrigued by your comment on "How can I love you" I never really got beyond "I'm gonna get you" which is a all time fave. Are you putting up a soundfile of it too? Edit: Very nice indeed! But I would still go for IGGY for the track of the album. Edited June 26, 2008 by KarlM

boba Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Which LP Boba? Or is it 45-only? I need to find that..thx....M It's on the "those sexy moments" LP. It is one of the harder to find moments LPs. The whole LP is fantastic, it all sounds like that and is similar sounding to the eleanor mills LP, it has that rare groove sound all the way through. I am huge moments fan but I think most of the lps suck and only collect the 45s. But they switched it up for this LP for some reason. I actually have a double of it actually, if you want it, I guess I would want like $20 for it. I looked at gemm and there is one for $20 from a UK seller so it would be cheaper shipping probably if you wanted to try them first (since I'm in the US). That is the lowest price on GEMM, by the way, other ones were way more expensive or in worse condition.

Guest marco Posted July 4, 2008 Posted July 4, 2008 Re the Eleanore Mills LP - Nobody's mentioned what for me is the killer track on the LP - "Same Routine". What a wonderfully arranged piece of 70s dance soul. Great songwriting too. Way ahead of it's time IMO. The production sounds almost like an early garage house record... in a good way... Give it a listen on no. 11 next time you're feeling strangely in tune with your inner self... I guarantee you won't be able to keep still.
