Kidinquisitive Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Ideally it would have been cool if I had posted this mix three months ago (see first song title) but what the hell, this works as a summer mix too. Lazy, hazy, heavy soul, specific to the 45 format. I was annoyed that you posted this up right before the brothers unique was ending on ebay, though. I still got it at a decent price, I guess it wasn't really affected. You got stupid money for that copy with messed up labels recently, I was sure this one would go higher, the only other one I've ever seen for sale is that one that Haim had up.

The copy that just ended is the only one I've seen with labels that were not damaged. A small handful surfaced in the Music City haul a few years ago, seemingly all with damaged labels. I've always wondered where this group was from and if they were involved in anything else. (Sorry for not scheduling my mix around your bidding needs btw Just kidding. You did get it for what I would regard as a bargain though.)

I heard some copies of the diabolics "with a broken heart" came out of there (the 2nd sundance title), I'm still looking for that, do you know where I can get one?

You're right about Haim's, I just looked at that again on popsike and it was relatively clean. Faulty memory on my part. Most of the Music City stuff was clean as a whistle but there were a few things that had water damage. Deloris Ealy on Big Vick Hammond also comes to mind. Not sure who might still have Diabolics. Maybe try Barry Wickham?
Val (Chunky) Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 thanks for posting that up..........very nice just listening to it now
