I came across a copy of Leon Haywood Baby Rconsidor on Fantasy UK demo.. now I probably only paid a pound for it some where, at some stage.. but just wondered is it a legit UK issue.. shame it wasn't a Fat Fish one.. suppose then I would have known I had it...

It's legit, came out around 1977 (a few years after its peak). There's also a boot of the Fat Fish.

yes mischief its listed in the uk r/collector p/guide,fantasy-ftc 151 from 1978 priced at a whopping £15 for the issue so your demo is worth ???,

i was wondering what the sound quality is like comparing the usa fatfish and the uk fantasy copys i presume they used the original fatfish tape ???,

Sounds loud and clear indoors... i'll ask me neighbour if i see her

to be honest i've never really played it until today.. but I may stick it in me playbox for the weekend and give it a spin in the afternoon when the rooms empty (Pontins Camber Sands Scooter rally)and see how it sounds i'll let you know next week. unless any one else knows, before hand.

Oh yes and probably(late wheel era) one of the country's most sought after and rare sounds. Never a 'played to death' oldie IMHO

Yes, it's in full stereo as well!

There's also a boot on Vault which has the instr. on the flip - always wondered about that but on a recent thread about those turquoise Modern "reissues" it was alleged that Arthur Wright was involved - so I assume the same applies here?

I had a couple of these on fantasy demo, sold one 2 years ago, got £25 for my one, it was in mint, never played

wasnt it one of "tony blackburns" faves ,heard a story he came to the wheel ,late sixties and paid big cash for it off one of the djs at the time??probably the start of big money rarities??

Don't know about that mate, better memories than mine could possibly tell ya As for one of his faves, yes didn't he sing it .

Now 'probably the start of big money rarities' as you say--- i think its up there I seem to remember at the time it was around 25-30 quid ,same time or just after was Queen of fools--Barbara Mills 20-25 quid.

The Vault 45 isn't a boot as I understand it as Vault was part of same company as Fat Fish or part of Fantasy or some similair link...it was a (legal) re-press for Simon Souusan and Soussan defintiely had access to a multi-track of "Baby Reconsider" which is how he got the instrumenal as he passed on the multi-track to Les McCutcheon along with Mirwood master tapes and they were stored in my garage for years. Bobby Mandolph multi-track was also there as I recall.

Bob Fisher was working at EMI and was behind the "Baby Reconsider" issue on Fantasy and from what I remember was very proud of the UK sound mastering job done compared to the US Fat Fish original.

I bet not many were sold on Fantasy.
