never heard it before how good is it perfect northern.

their track "the wiggle" is almost identical except that they say "the wiggle" instead of "the penguin" at the chorus. It also came out on Jerk records.

it's very good....can't say I knew it either. Anyone got a full sound file? and one of the Sam Williams This I Know?

That is such a beautiful record (apart from the middle eight). Never heard it before. I normally hate 'dance' themed songs but I have to put this right up there with the Pretenders' 'Temptation Walk' - also on Jerk.

I don't have it to hand, but are their connections other than the label? The vocals sound similar.

And anyone know what the Pretenders should/would go for btw?

the good thing is it doesnt seem as if it is put together like a dance song. think that is why it sounds so good.

I'm thinking you lot are easily pleased, I only listened to it 1 minute ago and I've already forgotten it, it's exactly the same as The Jerk except slightly faster.

No doubt wrtitten by Don Julian (the Larks) and Jerk label owner. I was on a website the other day (which i can't find now) looking at the stuff he had written and it was quite amazing how many songs he wrote relating to dances.

if he were alive today he probably would have been recording "Doin' the iPod Shuffle" and "Can you X-Box" amongst many others.

this 'penguin' is a great record yes.gif

just had a look at dave rimmer's site - seems to suggest temptation walk is b/w a song by the larks (baby my love)? have to say i think that's not the case on my copy of temptation walk as far as i can remember. will check if i remember. are there two releases?

I'm pretty sure The Pretenders were Don Julian's Larks under another name. Great record though.

Surprised you don't know it Chalky, Pat Brady used to play it in the late 80's at the same time as Sir Ceasar!
