Albert Petit Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Fantastic tune and very hard to find Nev, very suprised nobody's snapped this up. And good price too!!
Gasher Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Wally Lew stanley has a box of em so it aint that hard to fing if you know where to look Ive had 3 copies proppin up my kitchen table leg too. hope yer well mate Im out on the Brent Bravo nightshift home tomorrow. yeeeehhaaaa the G man Fantastic tune and very hard to find Nev, very suprised nobody's snapped this up.
Corbett80 Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Beautiful record can't understand why it doesn't get played out more often? Out of interest what sort of quantity are we talking with Lew Stanley? Cheers! JM
Gasher Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 not sure but he seems to have them on most of his lists the g man
Marc Forrest Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 not sure but he seems to have them on most of his lists the g man Well, not on the current one and the one before...he even doesn`t list them on ebay which would be what he most surely would do if he had too many So he may already have sold out or have only left a healthy small quantity to serve wants lists from...
Mormar44 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 I also think that just because you see a record on his list 3 times in a row, it doesn't mean he had 3 copies. It just means that no-one has offered up to his minimum amount on the record. Mark
NEV Posted June 24, 2008 Author Posted June 24, 2008 not sure but he seems to have them on most of his lists the g man I myself was mad keen to be on Lew Stanley's sales list subscription ... Until it landed on the mat i sent him an email asking if the prices were dollars and not pounds! I bet if you emailed him and asked how much for a copy of Norwood Long he'd want more than £200 for set sale. Unless your genuinely interested in a sale please don't post negative comments Ritchie. What goe's around comes around Nev p.s I bet theres more copies of LEE FIELDS-"TYRA'S SONG" (ANGLE THREE) in circulation than this
Corbett80 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 (edited) I've seen them maybe four copies in varying conditions go for between £100 and £250 over the last year, and i paid a bit more than that a while back now so £200 seems very reasonable to me, especially for such a fantastic record. Heard Mick Smith play it at the 100 a few months back and it sounded the absolute business...... Edited June 24, 2008 by mulf
Corbett80 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 (edited) 046._I_d_Like_To_Have_You.mp3 Thats a full on WOW in my book Interestingly Goldmine's Philly comp with this on says its unreleased....does that mean its a slightly different take or something?? Edited June 24, 2008 by mulf
Mormar44 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Wally Lew stanley has a box of em so it aint that hard to fing if you know where to look Ive had 3 copies proppin up my kitchen table leg the G man Had to email Lew Stanley about something else so I asked him about the box of Norwood Long. Below is the reply that his wife Marsha sent me. Lew said in 1996 he bought a 30 count box in Phillidelpha. He has not had a copy in 5 years, but would love to buy some if you know of any. Thank you for the information.
Gasher Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 sorry you feel that was negative Nev but I was actually having a joke with my mate WALLY and the fact that Lew did have a box ..I cant see where the Negative came into it. and what goes around ?? WTF is that all about I hope thats not a threat.... because If I wake up with a horses head in my bed ..my bird will go nuts at you for messing the duvet the G man Its a great record so someone please buy it and make Nev's day I would if I didnt have it already. Gasher Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 it doesn't mean he had 3 copies. ??????? and here was me thinking if he listed it more than once its because it didnt meet the reserve??
