A few that I don't need or want any more. Have tried to keep the word 'classic' down to a minimum in descriptions, but it ain't easy!

Postage and packing is FREE in the UK since I'm using recycled mailers, so why not? International postage rates, please contact me

Cheques made out to: Liam Paterson

Address: Flat 5, 28 Brandon Terrace, Edinburgh, EH3 5DZ.

Returns no problem, but obviously you'll need to pay the return postage...

US Originals

£10.00. Irma Thomas - It's Raining/I did my Part. Minit. G+.

Nice double-sider. Condition and sound is generally good but it does click a fair amount on my record player and a visual check confirms a few nasty groove gouges! Should be 'good for DJing' but you have been warned...

£10.00. Emotional Upsets - Maintain Your Cool. Laurie demo. VG

Nothing to do with the Volumes classic! Bought as a blind buy and...it's not a bad record. A bit of a garage sound, so maybe more of a mod club dancer than soul track.

£10.00. Baltimore and Ohio marching band. Condition Red. Jubilee issue. VG

Eccentric and much-loved instrumental. How did they manage to take a Hammond organ on a march? Must have had a trolley of some kind...

£10.00. Al Kent. The way you've been acting lately. Ric-Tic. EX

Classic!

UK originals

£25.00. Virginia Wolves. Stay. Stateside green demo. No centre, WOL. VG+

Sadly, lost its centre somewhere along the line, but otherwise a nice example of a classic sound...which I personally can't stand, but you might love it.

£20.00. Hollywood Argyles. Sure know a lot about love/Alley oop. London. EX.

Two great doo-wop standards.

£25.00. Harold Betters. Do anything you Wanna. UK Sue. EX

Mod club classic sound on the mod club classic label!

£20.00. Billy Stewart. Secret love. UK Chess solid centre. VG+

AND

£15.00. Billy Stewart. Every day I have the blues. UK Chess solid centre. VG+

Warbling Willy Stewart ain't my cup of tea but you may love his unique sound.

£20.00. Soul Sisters. Good time tonight. London. EX

Yes, it's another 'classic'. Top-drawer 60s party-time dancer with a particularly endearing out-of-tune (i.e. pissed) brass solo all adding to the charm!

£20.00. Marv Johnson. I love the way you love. London. EX-

Along with 'Money', this was one of the early records that put Berry Gordy's Detroit operation on the map. A total delight.

£10.00. Ben E King. What is Soul. Red Atlantic. EX

Archetypal mid 60s club/soul sound.

£10.00. Bobby Womack. What is this/What you gonna do. UK Minit. EX

Two funky-soul work-outs from 'the man'.

£20.00. John Roberts. Sockin' 1-2-3-4. UK Sue. VG+ WOL

Great if (nowadays) chronically unfashionable rave-up that once reigned supreme in 60s clubland. Would probably still get a great response from almost any audience after enough liquor has been consumed!

Re-issues etc

£5.00. Jimmy Frazer. Hopes, dreams and tombstones. Stardust reissue. EX+

If you had spent those formative years listening to soul records and spending your weekends at 'nighters instead of doing your homework or revising higher maths, then this is the song for you! B-side is some Helen Shapiro dross...

£5.00. Percy Wiggins. That's loving you. Abet. EX

Legit reissue of a nice dancer.

£5.00. Lorraine Chandler. What can I do/I can't change. Ashford. EX-

Legit re-issue of two of Chandler's classic 60s sides. Might save you a few hundred quid if you don't want the originals...

£5.00. Tempests. Someday. Stardust. EX+

Stafford classic and only originally available on an LP, but issued 'due to public demand' on this 45.

£15.00. Hesitations. I'm not Built that way. Kapp 'black issue'. VG+

High-quality 70s boot. Vinyl copy rather than the original's styrene, so doesn't that make it a 45 of higher material quality? Whatever, the sonic quality is excellent as is the label condition.

£10.00. Barbara Mills. Queen of Fools. Hickory 'issue' VG

High-end of the 70s boot market. Almost identical to the original in appearance and of a sonically high quality. All together now - "I'm a fooooooooooooool they talk about". Crackles a bit at the end.

£15.00. Rubin. You've been away. Kapp 'white demo'. EX-

Another good-quality 70s boot. One for all you cat lovers out there! No red 'A' is the give away as a 'reissue' but a nice example of the classic stomper.

£10.00. Rose Batiste. Hit and Run. Revilot 'issue'. VG

And yet another 70s boot of one of the scene's classics. Again a vinyl rather than the original styrene 45. Has clearly been round the block over the years, but the sound quality remains excellent.

£5.00. Case of Tyme. Manifesto. Legend yellow 'issue'. EX-

Chaotic dancer that was once oh-so popular on the scene, hence the numerous boots like this one. Great fun after about 10 cappuccinos and a fistful of Pro-Plus...

£10.00. Hank Jacobs. Elijah rockin' with Soul. Call Me 'issue'.

Good quality boot of a popular if truly dreadful instrumental. Clean label and good sound...yes I forced myself to listen to it all the way through!

£15.00. Tony Galla. In Love. Swan promo reissue. EX+

Not a boot but apparently this was a legit reissue to coincide with the release of a CD. One-sided!
