Guest VillaBoy Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 I'm slowly recording all my soul/R&B/funk singles, mainly from the 70's. Just dug out The Inspirations - Touch Me, Kiss Me, Hold Me on Black Pearl 100. But it has no year on it. Anybody know it? A google search comes up with nothing except to inform me that mine isn't a first issue. It has the rounded "Black Pearl" text and the Black Pearl logo, not the straight text and no logo.

Guest VillaBoy Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 1967,also came out twice with different flip sides . Dave f.................. Thanks - mine has "Funny Situation" on the flip. Most of my soul collection is very common stuff, but I did buy a job lot from a DJ back in the late 70's so who knows. I'm sure there are still some I've never listened to.
Soul Shrews Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Hi VillaBoy The Inspirations "Touch Me ............"/ "Funny Situation" was released on Black Pearl 100 in June 1967 The again on Black Pearl 711 with "What Am I Going To Do With You, Hey Baby" as the flipside Think it was also bootlegged back in the 70s due to northern demand for "Touch Me......" but I don't know the details of how to spot a wrong 'un, sorry Cheers Paul
Trevor Bridge Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Touch me, hold me, kiss me - The Inspirations was released in the UK in 1967 Polydor 56730, so presumably that was also the US first issue year. It's quite a rarity on the UK issue.
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I don't know the details of how to spot a wrong 'un, sorry Cheers Paul Look in the yellow pages under 'Roberts', perhaps, Paul?
